Reading 2024

Is there interest in Reading 2024?

I am thinking about travel plans for April.

Don't you think it's a little early to be thinking about Reading 2024. But if you come, I'll be there with the Italian pastry and driving either Midori or Pearly.

Anyone else?

Barring any NEW crises, as long as it falls AFTER tax day, I am planning on it.

I've missed those Italian pastries. Oh, and you and the Beautiful Naviguesser, as well.

I would really like to make it this meet. Let's make this happen. The sooner we set aside a date the easier it will be for planning purposes.

Now that its 2024, I'm thinking about it again :).

I'm flexible on timing, April through June. Later means I have a better chance of getting mine ready for a long drive.

I will also attempt to convince (It's Just) Eric to join.

Re: Reading 2024

The Dragon Meet is always near the end of June, so would be nice if there was a bit of time between the meets.
I might try to make Reading, but will depend on family stuff....I have another Grand baby due in May (will be my 5th)
I'll be glad when I can retire, and have more free time....

Re: Reading 2024

I'm local and will stop by if I'm not otherwise engaged. No SVX (or any other Subie!) just at the moment but I can probably find something with a flat 6 engine to bring...

Mike621 01-09-2024 01:40 PM

Re: Reading 2024

I’m getting the sense that if we planned for something in May, more folks are likely to make it, myself included.

Now that I have another SVX I would definitely like to go. I think I will be going to the Carlisle imports show as well.

Let's shoot for May 18th. It's the weekend after Mother's Day.

I'm down for that!

Sean, IM me about the Carlisle show please -- I've wanted to go for the past couple of years but keep missing it. And congratulations!

Be sure to take the box, Sean.

Ron,

You should come to Reading this May. I'll bring the rear carpeting from SUBYDOO. You can still detect the faint aroma of Scotch on it from the 10th Anniv. SVX Meet, thanks to you.

Huck, I've yet to attend this meet but, this year, I'm gonna finally try to make it.

Hope to see you there! I started a Thread on it.

I would love to be there this year! 30' extension to the garage will hopefully be starting soon, which will give me the room I need to get at least one of my SVXi up and running (fingers crossed). The fully built EG33 is finally done (dry sump and all) but it's still in Winchester.

Bill,

Come, even if you won't be driving an SVX.
You can always drive a Mars rover.

I was thinking of activities, too.

Thinking Saturday lunch, maybe an easy parade drive with a group photo.

A-10 Warthogs are cooler to watch. They used to fly over here all the time before they shut down Horsham.

Sorry, but Ron's beast is now in the capable hands of Sean. I now reside in fly-over land (Topeka, KS) But, the BOX will attend in my honor. Happy cannoli gorging. Ron. ;)

Cheryl moved out there pre-covid days (It's her home state), & I last November. The SVX refused to leave the hairpin curve terrain of the Appalachians. :(

In the morning I have a 5k race that do every year, so I’ll be there in the early afternoon. What kind of SVX wing wine do you want this year? The tracking comes with the car was the agreement.

wdb 04-20-2024 01:25 PM

Re: Reading 2024

I'm going to have to beg off from this year's event. I'll be romping through the Appalachians a bit further south in the 996, with a group of folks running engines from the same folks who built mine (Flat Six Innovations). Here's wishing you great weather and a good turnout!

Still aiming to finish my car and drive it out from Oregon. Taking two weeks off. If I can't, I will fly in. We'll see!

Re: Reading 2024

Sadly, I think I am taking myself off the list.

I had a major family issue come up, which has been taking most of my attention the past couple weeks, and is expanding, so I will not be able to make it out.

Sorry to hear that Mike. Wishing you and your family the best.

Re: Reading 2024

Still planning on attending however it'll be sans SVX. Was really hoping to debut my 92 6-speed, but it's just up to a long-distance road trip at this time. I had also considered bringing my 96 but of course now a recent binding issue (suspect duty solenoid) has developed and again would be a major risk taking long distance.

With all that said, I still plan to attend in my Mazda. It'll be great to connect with some svxer's and frankly nice to see other SVX's, other than mine!

Mike - sorry to hear about your family issue, hope all is ok and wishing you and yours all the best. With Mike unable to make it, who'll be taking the lead in terms of event planning (hotel, lunch/dinner, local events to attend?) or are we all just winging it?
