Reading X t-shirts...

I think it'd be a good idea to get t-shirts for the next Reading... How about everyone else? I know someone here has to have done this before for something that would be able to give us an idea of what to do. We could do some sort of design contest or something...

And if the t-shirt idea doesn't fly we can get ponchos!!!

crazyhorse 04-22-2008 04:59 PM

Ponchos are good!

White T-shirts, only if it rains

SVXRide 04-22-2008 06:12 PM

Clear ponchos and white t-shirts get my vote;):D

Are you thinking of something along the lines of the "X-men" movie logo or an emphasis on the X in SVX?

-Bill

SVX-FF 04-22-2008 06:17 PM

That would be awsome idea Jen.

Slogan something like

READING X
A DECADE OF FUN

White t-shirts for the ladies, in case of rain:D and gray for the men.

Steve

~*~JenSVX~*~ 04-22-2008 08:10 PM

Yes T-shirts!! umm White is fine... We could do anything really... I was thinking having forum users submit their ideas an then vote on them...
We could do like top 10 quotes to random designs to i dk... I came up with the idea, someone else come up with the designs! lol
We have enough time now that we can come up with the designs for s few weeks and then vote...

ensteele 04-22-2008 09:05 PM

Great idea. I like it. :)

Ron Mummert 04-22-2008 09:42 PM

Ponchos men.

Wet T-shirts women.

Ron.

You know Ron, I knew I liked you for a reason...

I do still have some shirts left. Send me a PM with your size and I'll let you know if I have one.

Logo First!

I had already discussed with a few people the idea of a special "logo" for the 10th, but we haven't made any progress yet. So first things first --

We need a logo for Reading X!!!

I agree that some sort of design "contest" could be held, with the mods narrowing it down to 5 or so, and then the winner decided by a vote by the rest of the membership.

What about it, mods & admins?

Photo-choppers, get ready!

Why not kill two birds with one stone? We can put this on a t-shirt.

Mods and Admins will give full support on this! ;)

I have a suggestion about the Tshirts and it's this; why not get a big batch of Tshirts made with the SVX Network logo, or an SVX slogan of choice, or possibly even a picture of the SVX [chosen by poll] on the front?

These could be sold as standard merchandise over time.

Then, for Reading X, do up a special Reading X picture as discussed above, and have that heat affixed to the backs of a percentage of the Tshirts.

That way we could use the same basic SVX design Tshirt [or 2 or 3 designs] for everyday merchandising, but add a special back picture for Reading X, the Dragon Run, whatever else we fancy.

Would that work?

Joe :)

I would definitely buy a shirt with exactly that on it. However, I dont know if I would make it THE official Reading X Shirt.

We need a good design that would appeal to us all, and mark the significance of the event. Hmm...

I am working on a list of all the Reading Meets to put on the back of a tee shirt.
The list will consist of the Reading meet number such as Reading I and a little phrase to commemorate anything of significance that happened at that particular meet.

An example is as follows:

Reading I.........Johanna's Forge was lots of fun.
Reading II........I saw my first Laguana Blue.
Reading III.......The skies were black, it poured on me.
Reading IV....... The Covered Bridges were quite galore.
Reading V.........Rally number one comes alive.
Reading VI........The auction opens its bag of tricks.
Reading VII.......Mimosas and Pastry, direct from heaven.
Reading VIII.......Earl came to Reading, ain't it great.
Reading IX.........I made it there, for a real short time.
Reading X..........

At Reading I we all caravaned from the hotel to a place called Johanna's Forge. It was a historic forge from the early colonial days.

You all get the general idea. The sayings need work. Give me a couple of weeks to complete the sayings then I'll post them here for comment.
Can anyone remember the name of the State Park (Forrest?) that we caravaned to for Reading 3?
Randy, please send that History of Reading to me via e-mail....thanks.

If you're talking about the neon sign auction, I'm pretty sure that was at Reading V. That was the last one at Denver and my first Reading Meet.

Thanks Dave. That's the kind of input that I need.

Do you have a left front fender liner? I need to buy one.

If Ben doesn't have one, I should be able to come up with one.

Also just some other things that I remember... Reading VI was the first back in Morgantown and Reading VII was a rainy miserable weekend.

I'll leave the rhyming up to you ;)

.

Or use the X in SVX to denote the Roman Numeral ten

I wish my graphics programs were up and running... This is just quick cut and paste Infranview crap, but you get the idea...

.

svxistentialist 04-29-2008 01:54 AM

That looks cool, John, but the logo will be taking up valuable real estate if it rains......

~*~JenSVX~*~ 04-29-2008 05:26 AM

I like that idea John... And I think it would look good on the front or back... I think I like the idea of a smaller logo on the front of the shirt and the bigger thing on the back.

It's Just Eric 04-29-2008 10:38 AM

The X being roman numeral 10 thing is perfect....I love the idea you posted, john, but mabey have that on the back, and something much simpler on the front? Something like this:
http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/3...ingxteeix6.png

svxcess 04-29-2008 12:29 PM

Looks good, Eric!!'

I was also contemplating a design for a black T-Shirt as wall. Everything would stay the same, except the white background would be all black.

The silver/gray oval would stand out nicely, and the black part of the logo would as well... but the X would really pop!!

First line of text under logo would be white and "Morgantown, PA 2009" would be the same shade of light gray to match the logo...

Since my graphic capabilities are down for a while, I am getting Patrick (nextse7en) to give me a hand in getting this ready if this is what we like.

Hocrest 04-29-2008 12:45 PM

On the back I think it would sound better if we changed "Reading Tenth Anniv Meet" to "Tenth Aniv Reading Meet"

Other than that they look great.

I have a PC version of Illustrator CS2 I can send you on a CD if that will help?
