bumb.......anybody?!?

ensteele 07-19-2007 01:05 PM

I thought I had posted a link to them before, but I don't see it. Sorry.

MotorSports Warehouse has them. They are here. :)

Thanks for the link, I like those side markers. Although I would rather have the kind like the ones on the svx in the picture i posted in the first post. If I can't find them I'll just get the Motorsport ones.

The UK-spec side markers are identical in every way to the JDM ones. You can get them from any Subaru dealer in the UK. In the past I have dealt with Bell-Colvill Ltd. their website and contact info is www.bell-colvill.co.uk I ordered the clear front turn signals from them, long before the JDM ones were available. These side markers are also known as "repeators"

Anyway, the part numbers are:

Lamp assembly, side turn (right)..84401PA020...£26.53-(US $46.89)
Lamp assembly, side turn (left).....84401PA030- £26.53-(US $46.89)

The prices may be a little higher now. These prices are from 2 years ago.

And here is a photo I took while over in England. I took the actual measurements off of this car for the exact mounting location. Maybe a member over there could pop off their repeator light and take a pencil "rubbing" to show you the exact shape of the hole needed to mount the lights. They just snap in.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for. I just inquired them for a price for both. Hopefully not too much more than the price you gave me.

I also have the "rubbing" that he gave me, showing the outline of the shape of the hole that they snap in to. Ask him. If he does not send you a copy, send me a PM and send you one.

How about asking svxistentialist for permission to post the rubbing in a how to for everyone to see?

Doug

I was thinking the same thing. If John sends it to me, I can put it into the How-To Docs. Thanks

How do we insure that the scale will remain the same? This is an exact tracing and cutting into metal is difficult enough. If the hole was cut too large...

I think we need a more exact way of doing this.

For those few who are considering installing the UK/JDM side markers, I would just send the an exact 100% copy.

A PDF document will be within tolerance as long as people leave page scaling set to "none" when they print it.

Include a measured inch or cm line in the document so when it prints you can verify if it is actual size...

It's Just Eric 08-22-2007 02:02 PM

...Exactly what I was going to suggest. Midaswell include any measurments right on the page..so you can take the sheet, line it up on the car,and transfer the shape

Does anybody else here in US have the uk/jdm sidemarkers?

ensteele 08-22-2007 11:08 PM

I would drink to that, but I would drink to anything. :D :D :D

I'm gonna try auto zone, advance auto, etc. tomorrow. Or can anybody lead me to the right place to get them? Thanks

It looks similar to a fog light plug from a GM but I'm sure its not exactly the same.

Good luck. Keep us updated.

After searching numerous auto stores with no luck, I've decided to ghetto rig something. I took the orange connector use for the rear sidemarker light and cut the flat circle part to look like a hexagon. Also, I broke off the little clips that hold it in when it's twisted and locked in.( I can't explain it too good but you should get the idea.) If I use a silicone glue or something it should stay in.

I just need one more of them, since the one I used was a broken spare. Anybody have any for sale or want to sell one?

Also, when I wire them up, how should I do it? I know I've got to tap into the turn signal light up front, but is there anything else I've gotta do?

Oh yeah, did you get to mail the tracing for the cutout John? I'm anxious to put them in:D:D
