Hey LAN

I think you should think about supplying some tape with the new 1a1 chips.

Mine came loose and I had to do a roadside repair to reseat it. About 3 hours into my trip the car started stuttering and shaking. I figured maybe one of the connectors was loose or something, so I stuck my head down there and wiggled stuff around and when I moved the ECU I could hear it clicking. I popped the cover off and it was completely out of the socket. :O

I seated it back in there and all was well again. I've gone about 5 more hours with no trouble so far, but if it comes loose again for sure I'll throw some tape or a tiewrap around it to keep it in there.

Otherwise I really love the chip combined with the TCU, it makes the car really perform great. I'll have some MPG reports in a few days...

if you have it seated all the way it shouldn't come loose. The ones with the square legs take a lot of pressure to seat.

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

I'm guessing that I pulled on the switch wire during installation or something like that. Haven't had any further problems so that's good.

The ECU/TCU combo worked great on the dragon. The improved shifting was much better than the stock.

Overall MPG was about 23 for the whole trip. That's with 4.444 gears at 75mph (approx. 3200rpm)

I'm down to my last few memory adaptors in stock. Just a heads up for anyone planning on getting ECU software from me in the near future. Smallcar typically orders more than I currently have in stock every month so it's fair to assume I will shortly be out of stock for a few weeks.

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

I'm officially releasing the Stage 1 aggressive software as a replacement to stage1v5. The website has been revised. I'm also offering a temporary super sale combo package for those who want to get a TCU too.

I recently got a bunch of TCUs so I can temporarily remove the $79 core charge. At the same time I am giving free Stage1Av1 upgrades to current stage 1 owners who order a TCU so you get the TCU and the Stage1av1 upgrade ROM/ROMs for $259 with no core charge.

I will post this info in the TCU thread as well which is here: http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...829#post621829

Orders can be palced here: http://www.ecutune.com/tcu.htm

I have 1v5 with the old adapter.
How much is it to upgrade to 1av1 and how much to go to 2av1 (is that the new name) ?

I haven't been able to work on the ECUtuner software since I was actively posting on it. I hope to get back to it this summer.

The ECUtuner software lets you communicate with the ECU to get tuning data and lets you edit binary images of your ECU software on your computer to make your own modifications. You then must have your own device programmer to write your own memory chip which you install into a memory adaptor from me which you install into your ECU in order to get the changes you made into your ECU.

The aggressive stage 2 software is not officially released yet but if you want to trial it I can sell it to you at the same price as the stage2v7 upgrade for stage 1 owners $199.

Can I trial it with my 2v7?

Of course. If you want a tcu I'll throw in the stage 2 aggressive ROM/ROMs or just order a stage2v7 update for stage 2 owners and put a note in the paypal transaction that you what you actually want is the aggressive software.

Goodmorning!

I just wanted to let everyone know that stage 1av1 is the best upgrade that I have done yet. The car feels much more confident and it is sooo much smoother! If you have an older version of LAN's software this upgrade is a must buy!!!

Now the only problem is driving easy enough to get a proper fuel milage reading...

I just had OT installed a stage1av1 @ the reading meet. So by having this new version ECU tune, the engine would run cooler than stock?

I've modified the coolant temp thresholds for the radiator fans in the new beta of stage1av1.

The coolant threshold to kick the fans on when the ac is turned off or to increase the fan rpm if the ac is turned on has been decreased from 95c/203F to 85c/185F.

The threshold to turn them back off if the ac is turned off or decrease their rpm if the ac is turned on has been decreased from 89c/192F to 80c/176F. This is the same temp that the thermostat fully opens.

This modification should maintain coolant temp between 176F and 185F.

No, I'd have to look back at the revisions notes but I'm 99.99% sure I did not include that modification in the production firmware.
