And by the way.
If your going to take this so called KY/TN "whisky" taste off seriously, your gonna haf to add some REAL stuff to the competition. Just in case, I'll bring a few drams along.

Signing off for awhile

Jean and I are making a little Easter trip to north Florida early tomorrow morning. The finances just weren't there for our train trip to the Big Apple. I hope to be back on Wed. which will give me Thursday to get the SVX ready for the Smokeys. (taking the Impreza to Florida) Check in with you guys when we get back... Don

Happy Easter everyone!:)

A Few More Days!!!

I'm really getting jazzed!!! Two meets in one month is almost more than I can stand. It's gonna be great meeting (in person, not in spirit) new people and getting together with others I've already met, again!!!

To make it "extra special," the wife and I honeymooned in the Smokies! So, we'll be able to reminisce. :D

Anybody neareby, we'd sure love to see ya there. Don't miss out on an opportunity to meet up with a BUNCH of your fellow SVXers!

Unfortunately, they tore down our honeymoon cottage in Gatlinburg. Last time we were there, we stayed in a secluded Chalet in Pigeon Forge -- went into Gatlinburg to see our old cottage and, guess what? Ever hear the song by Joni Mitchell, "They Paved Paradise and Put Up a Parking Lot?" The Bearskin Lodge had been turned into "Bearskin Parking." We were bummed!

Anyhoo -- come have some fun with us, next weekend (April 20-22!).

Back home again....in West Virginia

Well Jim Nabors doesn't really sing it that way, but what the hay. Jean and I are safely back on home turf after a nice few days at Jeykell Island. Beautiful weather and a bit of relaxation. Jean's Impreza ran like a champ, and I must admit that if it was a 2.5 instead of a 2.2, I would want it myself. Since all Imprezas have that engine this year, I may have to do some shopping! The sticky Bridgestones and the aftermarket Konig wheels make it look REAL good! Anyway, have to get the snow tread taken off the SVX tomorrow and do some basic clean up. The car does not have a good enough paint job or interior to do a lot of detailing; I just drive it, I'm not trying to impress anyone. No Q-tips on the vents for me! (I may wipe the Coke stains off the console though!)

Don, good to see you and Jean had a good time going to Jekyll Island to hide (couldn't resist the pun). And, don't worry 'bout cleaning your car. Mine will be nowhere near pristine. I just hope to be able to go through a little rain before I get there so I can wash off a little road grime. See ya in the Smokies!

Back home safely

Dropped Barry off in Johnson City, and got back home at 5PM, safe and sound. No oil used; tranny fluid bright red!

A major tip of the hat to the Moores for the Friday evening get-together and all the hard work that it took to make the meet a reality and such fun.

I am now a major fan of Polo Green!

Pray that everyone returns home safely and checks in soon; it was great seeing everyone!

More later.....Don:cool:

Don

Glad you and Barry are both home safe and sound, and that your ATF survived the trip up the hill.

Abbie and I were greatly honored to have you, and all the other wonderful folks, as our guests. Thanks for helping make it a wonderful weekend.

Home Again . . . Jiggady Jig!!!

Shari and I arrived home just now. We actually got in a bit earlier but had to stop and pick up her car which had been in to have the air conditioning repaired, have the rear brakes serviced and rear wheel bearings re-packed (She's headed to Nebraska tomorrow -- pray for a safe trip). I had to pick my son where he'd been staying with friends, and Shari went to the grocery (a major flurry of activity - Whew!).

We're worn out, but what a great time! Many many thanks for the wonderful hospitality of Bill and Abby. They were the perfect hosts. I've discovered that everyone should have a suby dealer like Earl Duff (even though they still need to work on how to put wheels on the right way :)) Finally getting to meet "immortalsuby" was a treat and to meet Kimberly was a bonus. Jerry and Roni -- great to see you guys again, as always, didn't get to spend enough time. Don -- remember Shoney's don't have waffles, from now on -- Hope Barry remains your friend after meeting all of us. Ron, thanks for the Eva CD to listen to along the way -- great stuff, gotta get it. Ren and June were a treat -- hope we'll see 'em 'round here. Thanks to Jerry Sutton for heading us off at the pass on the Rod Rally (though I'd love to have seen the cars), and his wife Linda for letting him drive her car :) Colin and Irene -- what a great pleasure, always. Wished I'd gotten to see more of Huck and his wife, but, he's close by, we'll meet again. John, great to finally meet you -- You might send the SpamsVX to the model builders so they can look at it for pointers. It was just all too too too great! Thanks again, Bill and Abby (and, Bill, don't take it too hard that Tennesee Sour Mash LOST! Na-na-na-na-boo-boo :D )
Those who missed it all missed a super duper treat!
