Here is the link to my how-to that I did about hood lifters for use with a CF hood. http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/How-To/14533.docI listed the NAPA part numbers that are needed.

Just curious..I know a while back there were hoods with theese nice little scoops molded into them. Looked real nice and clean. Was this the doings of class glass, or was it another company?

That's what I was inquiring about as well... Haven't got an answer yet

Was wondering what the cost would be to ship here also...01835..residence....and back to another posted question....is there a possibility of one being manufactured with a WRX style,or any style scoop?

jman050 06-24-2006 08:45 AM

can these be made by the same company in CF?

TheSTig 06-26-2006 01:10 PM

CF wouldn't really save you all that much. Fiberglass is pretty light.... cf might be a couple lbs lighter, but it would be stronger.

TheSTig 06-26-2006 01:10 PM

The scooped hoods are kinda ugly IMHO. I'm still awaiting a shipping price on one of these black beauties. :)

TomsSVX 06-26-2006 01:14 PM

these hoods are extremely light. They look pretty good too. I endorse them 100%, thats why I have one on my silver

Way too heavy for me. I prefer the 1/8 inch race hood that reminds you its there once you reach 5mph in the pits.:D Very good quality and what do you need a hood scoop for unless you're feeding an intercooler?:D

#2. What type of hood struts CAN you use then? Or do you have to use a 'hood prop' sorry, not sure the exact name.. I'm talking about the metal thingy that inserts into a part on the hood to hold it up..

Thanks, sorry for the bad grammar.

You can install a fiberglass or plastic scoop in/on the hood once you get it. Class Glass will not because it takes the sale of twenty hoods for them to recoup their mold investment.
You can use weak stock struts, or drill out the stock struts and use a pin, or you can make and use a hood prop.:)
