Sorry to dig this old thread up from the past!

I'm curious where are you folks purchasing the middle piece, aka Turnbuckle. I don't see this on QScomponents website.

Those of who has the complete kit, is the turnbuckle made of ALUM or Chromoly steel? I'm only finding ALUM turnbuckle everywhere!

Thanks.

Re: Bontrager Works 22mm rear sway bar kit

QS components no longer makes pieces that small. They only do 1/2" and larger. No more 3/8" stuff, and they were aluminum. The endlinks themselelves were teflon coated chromoly. A pretty sweet piece, if you ask me.

I'm trying to remember the place that I had make the last batch for me.

If I think of it I will post it up here.

Nevin where are you sourcing the turnbuckles? My original seized with the endliks and I'm looking to replace them.

Sam, sorry for the late reply. Oddly enough, I had a busy week!

I am getting the new ones from Rod End Supply dot com. I can source some for you, or I can just tell you the part numbers and let you do it and cut out the middle man, either way!

Nevin

Nevin,

Part numbers would be great for the end links and the barrels as well.
Did you change the barrel length? I thought they were originally 6" and then you found 5" ones.

Re: Bontrager Works 22mm rear sway bar kit

I want a rear sway bar, possibly a front too- recommendations accepted.
As this is an OLD thread, can anyone help me? Is there anyone here? Currently I'm the ONLY ONE on the website. Here's to hoping. 92svx is stock- except for new sound system, not even finished with that yet. One would think, with ALL the bloody vehicles out there, somewhere there would be at LEAST one 22mm from another vehicle that would fit.
Thank you in advance. Jim

If someone asks me the part numbers I will gladly give them out but i dont like to just publish them out in the open. If youd like you can just email me directly and i will gladly get you the part numbers.

And to the other question, no you can't just bolt another bar in from a differnet car. Hahah sorry

In fact, i cant imagine many cars at all that you could although im sure anything is possible.

I do not, nor do i have intentions of making, a front bar currently. The cost would far outweigh the benefit unless someone were in a crazy racing class. But then they would probably not need my help. It would cost far more because at least one side would have to be splined to work with factory mounting points but then the factory sway mounts are known to fail. Thats the reason a front bar does not exist. Unless your name is Bill. He made one.

Well, I've done it before, built a 69 Ford LTD. Removed the 8" deep air box on the firewall so I could move the built 390 rearward 4", moved the AC, blower, etc to the trunk under the rear deck lid, with the battery, put the front seat in the back, Peugeot Buckets in the front, c6 shift kit, Hurst ratchet shifter, stout gas shocks, car lowered of course, 295-55frt, 310-60 in the rear(1/4" clearance! Never touched!) BEEFY sway bars for the day, fairly balanced too. look long and hard enough, and get LUCKY, I found what I needed. THE ULTIMATE test came one day JUST as I was entering a great series of 90deg sweepers. I FILLED the corvettes rear view with LTD GRILL, AND HE COULDNT SHAKE ME! (Underestimated me or he couldn't drive, or both I guess.)

Re: Bontrager Works 22mm rear sway bar kit

Thanks Nevin for your input. There's 25 pages I'm trying to get through.
You seem very knowledgeable yet humble, good qualities.

I am still looking for one answer;
Are your rear sway bars still available?
Please say yes, or is it a deposit and wait? As none of those threads are recent I feel It wise to ask. I will PayPal you asap, or sooner, lol
Thank you,
Jim B.
