I'm holding my final judgement on this until I actually see a production version, but here's my take on current crop of Impreza concepts.
For starters, that picture is just a photochop in my book, and is not the true prototype. The sides just don't look right to be real. Also, if you look closely, it's also not a hatchback, or even a sport wagon. Look at the rear doors and the wing, and it looks like a Malibu Maxx. If they keep the Maxx look, I'm out. It they go with something more like the current sport wagon (which you'll see shortly), I may be interested. Now, if they make this a true hatchback, like the 207 or GTI R32, then i'll be all over it. Now, for the front end. Like the body style, I'm holding my judgement until I see the final product. While that front end is certainly an improvement over the B11S, as well as the Tribeca, I've also seen far better imterpretations of it from other magazines. Here's another take on the same basic concept, but with a more sport wagon/hatchback rear end: http://www.woocha.com/photos/users/j...2_Door_STi.jpg http://www.woocha.com/photos/users/j...Ti_Article.jpg http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...ed-X/25510.jpg This one is all around better in my eyes, the front is more aggressive and smooth, and it doesn't have the lame MAXX rear end. Here's another one, this one from an unkown source, with what I think is by far the best front design yet, and regardless of body style, I'll be all over it: http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/s...mpreza_450.jpg Like I've said all along, though, we're still at least a year away from the debut, I'm holding judgement until I see something real. But as of right now, yes, I'm planning on my next car to be an next generation WRX. But should it turn out to be a true POS, then maybe I'll just say "To hell with it", and go get one of these: http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/s...adster_450.jpg |
Can you see the first three pics? and especially the side view? and more accurately the door handles on the front and rear doors? 100% alfa romeo style!!! in the front the handles are normally located but on the rear they are located on the upper left of the door to give the impression that the car is a coupe...
the next image is the best so far, it has an acceptable design but worthy in being more a Legacy than an impreza As for the last cabrio subaru, mmm, can you see the resemblance with BMW Z8 ?? (concerning the car's front look) ;) ;) ;) I am really getting more and more pissed from Subaru, they are starting to ruin their unique designs, same as BMW did when it appointed Chris Bengel as chief designer for its cars. (he designed the new 3 series with it outrageously ugly taillights) :D :D |

Guy, don't forget to add a couple strips of tape to the windsheild. That's good enough for another 10 or 20 horse.
Man, these pictures, both drawn and photographs, are just not cool. Some of hte drawn ones look like old Mercury Cougars. Is this the direction of Subaru? Are all the cars going to start looking like the Tribeca? :( |

The wing is that way for the optional dealer installed tailgating kit which includes "Box-O-Wing/Wine", that is under development by Ripimoff Industries. In keeping with Subaru's new high priced upscale image; it will be advertised as "Chateau de Tailight." |
