Can we decide on a "main" channel for use for the weekend before the meet starts?
I'd suggest ch4 subch11, as that's Friday, the first day for the meet.

that's good, we'll have to, my frs radios are the biggest pain to change the channel, gotta take out the batteries and move dip switches around

Sounds good. I'll set mine tonight, just to make sure.
I will set mine up as well...

yeah, I just realized the whole sub-channel thing. I just bought mine yesterday and haven't really played around with them yet.
Hi SVX-FRS people, My cheap Motorola FRS radio does not have subcodes. It would be good if you just used channel four(4). Thanks, BOBB

yeah, subchannels?
what?
i have 14 channels, that's it
4 works for me tho
Most FRS radios have Privacy codes... its basically like having subchannels... its a way for everyone to use channel 4 and still have more than on conversation on the same channel without fighting for air time...
Subcodes only control which FRS radio turns on the speaker when there is an active signal. The channel is still tied up when anyone transmits.

Channel 4 w/no sub channel (0) is what everyone can use.
