has anybody done this change can you choose factory color already painted will it bolt in with no mods and how much did it cost from the dealer

For me the piece was about $140. from www.1stsubaruparts.com . It comes unpainted but get some xtra mounting clips. I painted it perfectly with supplies from www.paintscratch.com . It mounts in seconds. No more fishbowl. ;) :cool:

is the grill smallcar is working on (which has been coming relatively soon or relatively a while now) basically the same as the 97 grill??

Hmm... smallcars is a little different. The '97 looks identical to the JDM only in the body color, not chromed. B.
