My girl is not feeling right lately. It starts fine but then after five minutes of driving I start getting problems. Once I'm on the highway and hit about 80-85 mph the car will studder. It seems as if the enitre ignition to the plug turns off and on quickly. It only happens after the car has warmed up. And after while waiting at stop signs the car idles irratically and then often stalls. I brought it to the shop and there are no codes coming up. All sensors are reporting the correct ohms as per the manuals. I got a sneaky suspicion what the problem is. Just want to bounce ideas around and hear is anyone had the same problem ever!!! Any help would be aprriecaited guys. I have a 92 LSi touring. Thanks again!!!!

First of all, if you have a '92 LSi, you have a rare car, indeed, and it will be hard to diagnose (92 "touring" were designated LS-L :) ) Could be a bunch of things. Coil going bad, perhaps. Perhaps even a cracked boot on one of your coils. Maybe MAF sensor? Of course, since you have the manuals, check the "Basic Trouble-Shooting Chart" in the engine section. Then, check for your symptoms and the probable causes.

Aredub... All I know right now is that My SVX has some issues... when I drive it all cylinders cut out vs. just one or two. I don't think its a coil problem cause all of them cut out at the same time..considering that each plug has its own coil. I believe its the ignition module located on the firewall behind the center of the engine under the engine cover. We tried warming it with a light bulb and the problem happened right from the statr vs running it a while...The guy at the shop said through his time he rarely has seen a MAF go bad... he was quick to state that dealerships like to replace thoses because its a high dollar part. The guy whos helping me has been great.. but we are both confused on this one. Just would hate to buy the ignition module and find that it was still good. My previous experience with modules has been that when they die.. ther are dead.. and thats it.. Never had one possibly do what the SVX has been doing...I thought it was the tranny at first and panic, but the engine was cutting in and out...

So, you're talking about the "igniter" module? Not the ECU? Correct? Yes. Very good possibility. If that is the problem, you're still talking about around the same money as an MAF Sensor. Part # 22438AA050
