Anybody have a solution on a throttle position sensor? My son needs one for the 95 SVX I gave him. He is in St. Paul. Internet lookup shows most places out of stock/discontinued. There appears to be a Standard Motors part TH305 at some outrageous prices...

Is the car toast if it needs a new one, due to unavailability of the part?

These are discontinued, some members inlcuding myself have looked for alternative TPS from other vehicles and not much has been found. The other soultion would be to convert to a hall sensor. The car is undriveable without a good TPS, as that is what informs the Automatic transmission when to shift. Driving with a bad TPS will kill an Automatic transmission in no time.

We have some suggestions in a PDF that might help. Also we have two TPSii we have opened, repaired/inspected/swapped parts/resealed that are for sale. No guarantee but low price. They do have good resistance tracking on the bench. PM us if interested.

He cleaned it and there is some improvement, but the shifts are still hard, so it might need adjusting.
