Anyone have or know someone that has them? Just curious as how do they hold up ? Do they solid lock? Do the rattle. Think the SVX door too heavy? I googled it and there are lot out there.

None ever opened a full 90 degrees. A Lamborghini door unlatches and smoothly goes straight up. In the SVX, the door has to unlatch, swing out slightly to clear and then go up.

The original kit was made by Skydoor and was expensive and a lot of fabrication was needed.

Just looks cool parked with them up. No matter how they open the End result looks the same. I would be more concerned about the weight and the not tight fit ( rattle. ) Nice because you don't have to use them that way always. You can just open normal. It's been 5 years since last discussion. They have been made better since then. If I did it it would be my final mod. .i would have to ride in a car that had them. As the do close Normal the last 5 inches they should seal and latch as sound.

Please don't. The mod has been over done in the tuner scene.

Doors can still open out as normal
Shelter logic garage is 12X20 x10 tall
And it is a daily driver. So it might see snow

This was a 1966 SVX converted around 2010. A former member here from New Britain, CT.

He ended up ripping them out because the shocks kept failing on our extremely heavy doors. Said it was impossible to try to slide into the seat while holding the door up.

Bringing them down was just as bad. Said they never aligned right and the doors would sag when opened. Would have to be raised up about 5" to be able to be pulled in to latch correctly.

Needed the correct strength shocks with the right amount of extension

And just how do you buckle up and reach the door to close it. Or worse yet, your 5'5" girlfriend?

The set up is a lot different now... Talked to a Ricer Speed shop. He talked me out if it too.. Said it tears up the door cards, also the sagging issue. A lot of welding as none are made for SVX saw some on Mustangs and Cameros that were good butt were made as bolt on... Also said once they sag almost impossible to fix and it will start making dents on the door edge. Was a cool idea. Found a guy that would so it fro $800 installed. Tempting it was....

More of a hinge not long arm. Also the pistons are to the door not the frame as the car shown.i still think the risk is not worth it. I have to see a few that work before I would even reconsider.

Maybe I'll get a set of those for my latest acquistion. My wife keeps complaining about how far away the door handle is when it's fully opened and she's trying to close it.

Then again maybe not.

The idea of Lamborghini doors is gone. They work most of the time not good on a car you plan to drive. You open them a few times a day and within a year they sag. Show car stuff. . Maybe if someday I retire it to that status.;)
