Since i'm making a new hitch for my svx (sold my last one)

i figured i would ask to see if anyone else was interested

What was the approximate weight limit on those?

Up to 3,500 lbs GTW
Up to 525 lbs TW

It can handle more but the svx would be the limiting factor.

It uses 3/8" thk plate with a 2x2x1/4" bar.

I used the prototype to move from ontario to alberta.

That sounds perfect. Since the frame rotted out on my truck, I need a tow vehicle for my boat. This would be the most economical solution. What were you thinking of for a price?

i'm thinking the 150 - 200 range, depending on how many are interested and bare metal or coated

That could be a problem. With shipping costs the hitch will be worth more than the car I'm putting it on. It's a '92 with close to 400,000 km.
Like I said, play it by ear.
