As you all hopefully know, there will be the first annual NW SVX fall tour (still working on the name) taking place next Saturday, 10-19.

I'm working on the finishing touches of the tour, but the starting point will be in Snohomish, WA (at the Java Inn, for those that were there in Aug) meeting between 10am-11:00am.

This of course isn't a reservations only type of event, but I would like to get an idea of who all is coming to help me in planning some of the rest stops, etc. Not to mention it is nice to know who to expect so we don't accidentally leave without someone!

I'm hoping this will be a great tour and meet, so everyone plan on coming! :D

I will be there, Emett will be with me, but we will only have one SVX with us. ;)

Jim, did the thumb up mean that you will be there also? Hope so.

I'll be there, looking forward to meeting local svxs (and their owners too, I suppose).

Anyone else notice that we have more posts than the other regional forums?

At this moment, I am thinking that I will join the tour in progress, using cell phone communication to know where the rest of you are and meeting up with you en route..... more later.

Here's the "promotional" write-up I did for the flyer. Just in case someone is still lurking out there and on the fence about this one. :D

"This meet and driving tour promises to be a great experience for SVX owners and enthusiasts. Not only will there be lots of opportunity to “talk shop” with other owners, there will be hours of true “grand touring” style driving – the type of driving the SVX was designed for. As an added bonus, you will see some of the most beautiful scenery of rural Snohomish County.

We’ll meet in the historic town of Snohomish, antique capital of the Northwest. Heading out of town on Highway 2, the Cascade Mountains will be in full view on a clear day as we pass dairy farms and grazing cattle. As we enter the city of Monroe, we will take a sharp turn to the north and embark on some of the most twisting and turning roads the county has to offer. We will take a quick break at Lake Roesiger, a quiet rural lake. From there we will continue north to the town of Granite Falls, nestled in the foothills of the Cascades and famous for logging. Continuing northwest on more back roads, we will reach downtown Arlington, a typical “Small Town USA” type main street. We will break for lunch here. Next we will head due west, through the very small community of Silvana, many types of farms, and on to Stanwood. Stanwood is known for its high Scandinavian population and quaint theme shops to that effect. We will stop for a break for those that want to explore, find dessert at the Scandia Bakery, or just talk cars. Leaving Stanwood we will break out onto the open fields and see the Puget Sound for the first time. We will head south along Port Susan until we reach Kayak Point. Here we can drive down to the waterfront for some great pictures of the cars and a beautiful view of Puget Sound. The last leg of our journey continues south through the Tulalip Indian Reservation with occasional views of the Sound and even the city of Everett in the distance. We will end in Marysville next to the Tulalip Casino. From here there is direct access to I-5 heading north and south."

Sorry, that was the wrong attachment I put up there yesterday. This is the one everyone needs to look at! Let me know if it doesn't work for you...

Hey, I was going over the directions and I loose track of them in Arlington. My map doesn't list a "Main St", is there another name for it? Or does the park have an address? Not like I really need to know, but I like to check out where we're going.

Cool route, I haven't been to lake Roesiger since I went to the nearby boy scout camp a few years back (and nearly had a heart attack driving a Saturn down those roads in a hail storm at midnight).

Ahhh peeking at the route eh? I actually had the directions posted up here accidentally for a day or so before I realized it. The attachment that is here now is different, rather than the directions it shows the times and the names of cities and stops. It will give you more of a general overview without the confusing specifics, and still tell you where we are going as far as cities.

But since you are curious.... I apologize for the vague directions in the downtown Arlington part. I grew up there so I knew where I was driving and didn't note the street signs much. I may have got some names wrong and left out a turn or two. But I can lead on that portion and hopefully we won't get lost! Just kidding.

You did not mention what channel we will be on for the FRS radios. You might post it here for some of the late arrivals. ;)

I don't have FRS radios so I have no idea. That was to be determined at the beginning of the drive. Late arrivals will have to rely on the stop locations and times. Or try the cell phones and see if they work.
