The plan is to have the race car at Summit Point May 24-25 with the Blue Mountain Region SCCA to compete in the Pennsylvania Hillclimb Association track trials on the Jefferson Circuit.

All who wish are invited come watch the only SVX in the world in this type of competition.

Beautiful day for an afternoon at Summit Point on the Jefferson Circuit – Elazar had the SVX Race Car on the track .... Both did really well! Big plus was all the unique cars (including homemade) that were there ...

Elazar! Looking good in Harry's videos! What were your times? What did you think about how the Racer handled?

Cheers,
Bill

Thanks Bill. Best time of the weekend was 60.931 for 3rd in class and 28th overall. Car felt really good, probably the best I've ever felt it. I think that's a lot because it's just much better suited for this than for autocross. Loved how neutral it felt. Just slight understeer at exit enough to keep it safe but could still easily rotate it with brakes or throttle lift whenever I wanted.

Huge thanks to OT for letting me take the race car out for the weekend and all the preparation. OT you can breathe now, I got your babies back to you in one piece! ;)

Elazar-

Great videos! Sounds like you ran out of track before you could get into 4th?

Were you able to get into the 90s before braking for the curve?

There was nothing Volkswagon about that Ghia. Full tube chassis car with fiberglass body. The only VW thing left is the flywheel lightened to 8 lbs and the crank welded and ground. Don't remember what he said the size of the motor is but I think he said he's boosting to 26 lbs!

The course is 3rd and 4th gears. I couldn't get any data with my phone but a glance at the speedo showed top speed of 93 on the back straight.

I was only hearing one gear shift, so I figured it was 2nd to 3rd ;)

How'd those Hoosiers stick?

After pit out I would shift to third entering the first right hander while breaking slightly, that's the gear I needed at exit. Probably didn't hear it because I wasn't accelerating then.

Hoosiers stick much better when they are warm!! :D
