Some of you may remember my 94 SVX with Young Tom's 246 whp engine build and the Whiteline rear adjustable links along with many other goodies. I'm finally going to have a nice respray by Dave Heinricks. I'm keeping it emerald pearl but was thinking I should have a stripe or two. By the way, I'm changing to a '97 grille. Here are my options:
1. No stripe
2. Single central black stripe
3. Wide central black stripe with very narrow stripes each side.
4. Option 2 in yellow
5. Option 3 in yellow
6. Option 2 in gold
7. Option 3 in gold

What do you think?

Could be interesting... Not generally a fan of graphics myself but in the spirit of Because Rececar I'd vote option 3 in gold.

What about an offset stripe?

No stripe unless you're racing it, adds 15-25 more HP.

Definitely offset. Pics of your car?

Personally I think stripes are hideous but since you're asking you'll probably get them anyway, even tough survey says no ;)

Get it wrapped!!

This is something to consider, get it done in vinyl. If you don't like/get sick of it removal is as simple as peeling it off.

Back in the day, before the Young Tom engine transformation and before the paint job deteriorated so badly. Poll, wife and daughter all say no stripes.

Solid color is the way to go. :)

Good seeing you on here again. How's the svx running?

Running really well. YT came back a month or so ago and adjusted the tuning. Had a lot of driveability issues. Now it is really good. The sound and feel of running up through the gears, full throittle, shifting at 6500 is so sweet. The solid top mounts can be pretty harsh on a poor road surface, but the handling, with the new front and rear control arms is very crisp.

Try it out in Plasti-dip. You can paint whatever you want, leave it for a while and peel it off when you get sick of it. Pretty cheap too at $6 a can....

Done graphics looong time ago. Now each time I look back I feel stupid (removed them of course).

Stripes are generally good on a wide body/large rims car.. But I wouldnt consider them at all.

The Alcyone Horns are nice. I'd be more embarrased about the wing.:o

Take pics of the car, transfer to your computer. Put stripes on the car via Paint application in Windows. Evaluate. Decide. Works great for pasting photos of wheels to see what they look like on your vehicle. which I have been doing the the last week. Or I suppose, better, Photoshop.

Haha true. I was flamed because of it.

I am currently working on a special project that involves it. I will definitely lower it though, probably by 2-3 inches.

Final tally is in. Wife and daughter got 10 votes each. No stripe. Car is off to Dave Heinricks tomorrow. Will post post-respray pics.

Gold is a good color to go with the green. :)

If you lower it make sure that your lower control arms are level with the road!

And you were flamed more about the copper intake!
Keep your powder dry, my friend.

I redid it again. DEFINITELY one of the best Mods I've done.

If you have time OT, buy a Mustang 5.0L K&N Filter and fabricate the same copper box I did.
