More than likely those are staggered, so they will not work, unless you feel like burning up a transmission.

staggered ? burn up transmission ? i dont understand

Staggered = different wheel sizing front and rear, and typically different sized tires to go with them. Different size tires are bad juju for AWD vehicles, since your front and rear wheels will be rotating at different speeds. It will lead to overheating and failure of your center diff.

***Disclaimer: If you try the following I am in no way responsible for the results.***

If you're VERY careful about the tire sizing it should be possible to run a staggered setup. For example, 245/40/18 and 275/35/18 are within a tenth of an inch in diameter depending on the manufacturer. Realistically speaking, people run their tires farther out of sync than that simply by having their air pressures off.

ah ok
why not make sure they are all the same rims ?
get all 4 rears and put them on front as well or all 4 front ?

i'd rather go with all 4 rear, LOVE THE DEEP DISH !

I still haven't found the perfect wheel yet,.

Still quite happy with the custom silver powdercoat from Transwheel with all markings ground down and the filled center caps.

I guess this came to be my signature wheel.

These and my BBSes are my favorite wheels on the SVX. Every so often I look on ebay and craigslist for them just in case they pop up. They are not very common anymore and usually the ones you find are 4-bolt pattern.

Nah. The stock SVX wheels sweep forward, so they should too. There's something about the sweeping forward look that matches the design of the car really well, IMO.

Are the shoguns all the same or are they mirror left/right so that they sweep the same direction?

The Shoguns are directional, with both a left and right side.

I love these wheels and would have them my polo on in a minute if they were available.

Transwheel would have also filled in the unused bolt holes to give a sleeker appearance.

Still keeping my eye out for them.

A friend of mine was driving past a pawn shop in texas and saw that they had a set of shoguns. I instructed him to buy them, and I'm sure he'd be willing to sell them. He doesn't even have a car that they fit. If anybody is interested I can pass along his contact info.

Shoguns are also one of my favorite wheels of all time. If I found a set, I would have them chromed black, and put on the beast. Or maybe just leave them. Ahh, hard to say.

I bet gunmetal look or chrome black would look awesome. Or a flat black.

John is right about filling the extra holes too.

I'd really love to find another white SVX and throw some of these on there. But 2 is as many as I can handle right now.

And Nevin, those black Motegis are really nice and match really well.

Thank you fellas for the kind words.

I actually kinda fell into these wheels this spring. A wrx buddy of mine ordered them for his '04 sti, found out they were the wrong pattern, and i got them really cheap, like $250 for the set brand new. Then since I work at a tire shop, I got a killer deal on the tires (BFG G-force.) The whole ball of wax only set me back like $700 and the rims normally go for that themselves! I was quite pleased.

Those do look good Nevin and I'm not a fan of the spokes so :) how do you like the tires?

SVX92-97
11-26-2011, 10:45 AM
Nevin, great looking svx. Is that the original paint? What type of side molding are those on the doors. I personally am not a fan of black wheels on a black car, I would have those gunmetaled on my ebony. I really like the design.;)

Nevin
11-26-2011, 02:36 PM
Some of the paint is original but not all as it has been in an accident or two I think. The right rear quarter has been redone, and so has the front bumper, but other than that, yes it is original. I also have a detailing business, and a good way to attract customers is having a well taken care of car yourself. So it's not perfect by any means, but I do my best!

And I love the bfg g-force. I've had them on 3 cars now, and for the money they just can't be beat. I don't do track days or anything, just spirited driving sometimes, but they have plenty of grip for me, they look cool, and they are very affordable. With my work discount, I think I paid like $112 a piece for them. Something ridiculous like that anyway.

And I don't like a LOT of black on black cars/wheels myself, but I have had 3 cars now black with gunmetal, black, or matte black rims, and if it's clean it can pull it off, but it it's not taken care of, they look kinda stupid. It's all just personal preference, I suppose.

Sorry, I missed the question. Did not ignore it on purpose.

I guess I never gaave those things much of a thought. I guess it's just a piece of trim there. I always thought it was a factory trim piece. Here's another slightly better shot with the stock wheels on.

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e365/wahwahrockwah/svxcleanup015.jpg

Is this not a normal piece?

Wheels on the car previous to me buying it. Looking for a similar set because that look is what made me fall in love with the car. Right now I have no time to work on it and I am contemplating trying to sell again, but I will keep working on it until then (if I ever have time). :D
