View Full Version : Will Mazda 3 wheels work? I can get a pretty good deal on a set.

The bolt pattern and offset is right, but they are 17 x 6.5 a full inch more narrow than the stock wheels. What would be implications of using a more narrow wheel? Does it simply mean the tires will be more narrow or will they be able to use 225 or 215s? Anything else to consider?

I like the idea of using Mazda wheels, my other 2 cars are Mazda so I could use them for snow tires if I don't like the look on the SVX.

ALSO if someone could Photoshop a pic with the wheels on the SVX that would be great!

They'll fit fine, but I always hate using narrower wheels (I love having wide wheels and beefy tires). 215 would be the widest you could reasonably go on those, 205 would probably be better in terms of handling response. 225 would just be pointless, the tires would be bulged out and wallow all over the place when you change directions.

They will probably fit but I think the Mazda 6 17"s would look really good on an SVX. They have a swept look to them like our stock rims.

Yeah I know them well, that is what is on my Mazda 6. They are 17 x 7 with a +60 offset, and run 215 tires.

I am not sure I want the Mazda 3 wheels now, although if I did get them I could use the Mazda 6 wheels on the SVX and the Mazda 3 wheels on the 6.

225s will fit provided you have a decent tire shop.

I've changed my mind. Today I saw a Mazda 3 parked with those wheels. I still like the wheels, but the tire did look pretty narrow, and good deal or not, I don't think I would have been happy with them.
