Well, I for those that don't know, I sold the SVX. In fact, Mark's daughter Joy bought it! Yeah, so it stays "in the family." I still plan to help Mark plan events down here in the Portland/ Vancouver area, and will be coming with him and Joy. As far as the forum goes, I won't be around much since I got a new toy to play with. Thanks for everything guys!

Here is the new toy

1965 Mercury Comet CYCLONE....that's the original paint! Gonna keep it same color.

Woah! Nice car. I had the privilege of driving a cherry red comet cyclone to my sr. prom. Amazing car. Wish my now father in law hadn't sold it. I remember stepping on the pedal at about 40mph and wondering for a few seconds why I wasn't gaining speed only to realize I was turning the rear rubber into smoke.

Way back when (pre-SVX, circa 1991 or so) I had a 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 LTD, 2 door hardtop, same deep maroon color as your Cyclone, I think (especially if yours is a metallic), with a 390 Police Interceptor (solid lifters), Cruise-O-Matic on the column, limited slip diff, aftermarket A/C (on the tranny hump, blew the coldest R-12 air I've ever experienced) bench front power seat, maroon brocade cloth, dual exhausts, air shocks in the rear and a full towing rig, am/fm mono radio with a back speaker and fader, power windows & locks, Cruise Control, black vinyl top...

Ran great. Pingged on premium so bad I had to add lead & octane enhancer (which I bought by the case at GI Joe's) and got a whopping 12 mpg! I was very regular in the gas stations in those days. Whatever happened to "Custom Blended SUNOCO 260", anyway?

Sold it a year later for about twice what I paid for it: clear coat was peeling and I wasn't going to put a cheap paint job on it and was given an "offer I couldn't refuse...". But it sure was a fun ride while it lasted! Mario Andretti won the Daytona 500 in a '65 Galaxie, as I recall.

Steve Miller would approve of your Cyclone: he even recorded a song about it! Might be your new theme song, eh?

Google Mercury Blues, I actually like some of the other versions better.;)

Cheers!
