This one, if it were longer, or if they stick out a bit. Quad tips, round, slanted, and long with the ends rolled like these are my favorite by far.

I saw an SVX with quad round ones at a meet. Like your first picture. It looked fantastic. I want to do that to one of my cars.

These Magnaflow tips are P/N 35168. These are rolled dual angle cut tips made of double-walled, T-304 stainless steel. top notch manufacturing and finish all the way! 3" Dual Diameter, 2.25" I.D. Inlet, 10" Length

PerformancePeddler has them.

Yup those fit the look of the car just as well as the stock ones, and look sportier too. And they stick out just the right amount looks like.

Looking like the quads are the winners.. I'll do some pricing. The place that svxcess recommended has some deal going on that when you call them, you'll get better pricing or something. I'll have some story about how I can find them cheaper elsewhere I guess..

One problem.. 3 Dual Diameter 2.25 I.D. Inlet.. It's nearly impossible to find a 2" Inlet for these things. I'm planing on doing my exhaust with 2" piping so I want it all to fit..

John-

The ones on Bwana's car are significantly bigger than the ones on Olu's old car. Compare the pics. :)

Bigger isn't always better... it's just a matter of personal taste. The Magnaflows seemed to full the opening fairly well

I wonder if Bwana could tell us who made his? More photos of his exhaust tips can be found in his locker HERE (http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/user.php?Bwana|9865)

I had mine replaced a couple of months ago and wanted to re-use the OEM tips since my originals are in mint condition.. problem was that they would'nt fit on 2" pipe without modification so I opted for twin round tips... I wasn't sure about them to begin with but they've grown on me you might say.

These pics were taken on the day of the surgery.. the dirt and markings on the rear are from the tow bar that has now been removed for good. :)

The car sounds great now.. still on the quiet side but with a nice deep note. Also has noticeably more power and no change on economy.

I also have a 2000 grand am gt with the stock quad tips, personally I dont care for them.

I have the straight-sided oval variety on mine, slant cut tips.

I opted for a black chrome finish, to match my car a little better than the bright chrome.

Thanks, everyone for your suggestions. I ended up going with the Magnaflow tips, p/n 35168 that svxcess recommended.

These ones:
http://www.subaru-svx.net/photopost/data/535/Magnaflow1.jpg

They ended up being the ones I thought looked the best AND they ended up being the cheapest, believe it or not. Got them from Performance Peddler at $113.90 for both plus free shipping..

Wow.. that is pretty good.. I paid $95 each for mine NZD, which equates roughly to about $150 USD....

customizing is nice... but am I the only one who actually 'likes' the stock tips? I think they are very dated japanese looking... Goes well w/ the car, knowing its age.

Other then that... I like the ones mike posted. w/ the smaller magnaflow ones after that...

Alot of people used to like the stebro tips. I never liked them b/c there jsut wasnt enough metal to them.

I realy like the stock tips. It's not just an open hole, but manufactured in a way that has some interest.

I like the way the oval shape of the tip itself and the "insert match each other...

and also match the shape of the rear reflectors in the tail lights and the side reflectors in the rear lights as well.

I like oval and ovoid (rounded rectangle) tips.

The SVX seems like it could use something a bit more substantial than the somewhat squished, and constricted look looking OE tips. The thick double-wall of the stock tips makes them look a bit closed-up.

But I would keep the general theme with these.

I like the way those look on this car. (2007 Parnelli Jones Boss 302 Saleen. it is the same tip style.)
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm30/hassanfayaz/2007-Saleen-302-Parnelli-Jones-L-1.jpg

Here is a larger size that is not quite as wide, but taller than stock, with the same baffled inner wall, like stock.

I've always liked the Magnaflow version, as well:
http://www.jegs.com/images/photos/600/642/642-35175.jpg

For something a bit different, and to somewhat echo the tail lights I have thought of two pair of ovoid tips... that could be cool.
http://xmsengineering.com/images/uploads/C5%20Oval%20Tips%20-%2097-04.jpg

I could even see using those mufflers, swapped side for side, with the over-axle pipe-work cut-off, and re-directed for an SVX dual-exhaust system. Mufflers end to end inboard, tips and inlets outboard.

Otherwise, there is the Porsche Cayenne system... which looks do-able, too... :D

StainlessWorks has many different slash-cut oval tips, otherwise, also...

I had the single Magnaflow exhaust done on my SVX last month.
The tips I used were from SVX Central,(Motorsports Warehouse).
I used "Style V". They are stainless oval, a little bigger than stock and very well made. And at 110bucks for the pair, not too spendy.
Plus, it looks like the car came with them.

I am personally going for something like this:

http://image.examiner.com/images/blog/wysiwyg/image/rice%2810%29.JPG

P.S. on a more serious note, I really like the Saleen tips BoxerFanatic suggested. Keeps the style and the sophistication of the SVX intact. Good find!
