A Simple rough way to measure power gains

I was reading an articale in Auto speed were they used a MAF and a O2 sensor to increase power. The tuned to get maxium airflow and found that this was different to what you would target by setting off O2. I think for those of us that aren't running MAF you could us the feed back to act as a quick and dirty Dyno. Haven't figured out how to do it on a standard SVX but there maybe a way.
Good use for our Nissan MAF.
