Now that the BIG ONE is over, guess we could give a try to getting the locals together again. I don't think we've had a successful (more than 2 SVXes LOL) meet here since early May. Back in February and March there was much talk of BBQs, big road trips, multi-day tours, etc for the summer...

Well?

:D

ok, here's a small idea to try on: there are several cruise-in's around Seattle each week. Showing up at one of these with a few SVX's might be entertaining. I always enjoy meandering around all sorts of other iron that shows up at these things. Game? Here's some details:

Troy, 2 members in Oregon now. I'll watch for something to develope. Best I'm able to do is 2 SVX meets here at the Inn. The new Oregon member is coming to the Inn soon with his "YELLOW" SVX.

David - good to see you've got another member down there in Oregon finally! Should be interesting to see the yellow SVX. My wife and I are looking forward to another visit to the Inn at some point. Maybe after I get some SVX projects done. :D

Jim - Stephen (elninoalex) is going to be in the Lynnwood area the weekend of August 23-25. I'm trying to see if that weekend will work for some kind of meet with some folks. Not sure if he will be driving up the yellow SVX or not. (also plans to equip with his nitrous system from his old SVX:eek: )

It might be fun for us to get together at one of the meets that redroadster mentioned. We don't need to do that for the Aug meet, but some other time might be fun. It would be fun to have several SVXes roll into a meet with other sports cars, and see what the responce would be. :) Lets keep that in mind, and if anyone is planning on going to one of these, let us know so some of us can go along and give a little more impact.

I'm definite about checking out a Wednesday import cruise-in in Fife and a Saturday XXX drive-in at Issaquah this month, and I'm real flexible on dates. I propose the 14th or 21st for the import scene and 24th or 30th for Issaquah.

The 24th for Issaquah might be interesting if we can also have our Oregon brethren join in, since he's to be in town that weekend! Maybe we might snag one or two from over the Pass?

This little cruise-in suggestion in no way prevents a separate NW SVX tour; they're just a bonus. They might also be combined. For example, a tour on the 24th that ends up at XXX might be interesting. As always, I'm willing to help plan or lead a driving tour.

If nothing else, I'm just going to post a date that I'm going to take the mighty Ebony Pearl LSi to these events and invite anyone who wants to make it two or more!

Here's a further thought on that idea: set aside Saturday for a NW SVX tour. First leg: Seattle area to downtown Snohomish, for coffee. Second leg: Snohomish to Leavenworth via US2 Stevens Pass, for lunch. Third leg: Leavenworth to arrive around 5PM at Issaquah XXX Drive-in, via US 97 Blewett Pass and I-90 Snoqualmie Pass.

Depending upon their home location, drivers can pick up the tour at one of three points (coordinated at specific times at each checkpoint and augmented by cellphone communication) and/or drop off the tour at any of the three checkpoints.

Humbly submitted for your consideration...

Alcyone, just come from Puyallup to Issaquah, to meet us at the end of the tour at the XXX Drive-in! No cost / few miles.

Thx for the encouragement on this tour idea. I will have a more complete plan suggestion before the end of this week for an SVX tour on Saturday, August 24th. Look for a new post on the Northwest Region forum for the "Spontaneous One-Lap Around the Cascades 2002 Summer Tour"!
