took out my clear corners and installed 5 Amber
LEDS in each one.
Still have the hyperwhite LEDs in the center grill
but I may actually go back to the 92 Grill and put
a full row of white LEDs in the back of it from left
to right.
pics to come on that too soon.

nice
i was thinking of doing something similar, esp since i have the clear corners
so i can get rid of the amber bulb, and throw in some clear amber LEDs to clean it up a bit
how did you arrange/fasten/connect these things?

I just measured holes equal distance apart by about an inch
and drilled them from the backside.
I made the hole just slightly smaller then the LED size so I just
pressed it in and wired them up.
I may take out my regular bulb and add more orange LED for
blinkers, not sure yet.

I think the center grill will come out nice and for that
Ill go hyperwhite leds.

so you drilled the actual housing?
and as for the wiring, series, parellel?
pics if avail, please

simply drilled into the backside, yes..
wired the grounds to one ground, to the body
and the powers I just ran to one wire and tapped
it into the parking lite red wire.

Looks great; I can't wait to see the grill! (I sometimes feel like I'm the only one that thinks a lighted grill is cool.)

pardon the un-initiated question...

But does the faux-light center bar grille come apart, similar to headlight baking, or modifying the internals of the tail lights?

I always thought the SVX (or even Sable, hack, spit... :D ) could use an LED light array all the way across the front, amber on the side indicators over to the projectors, and either hyperwhite, warm white, or yellow, or a combination... across the bottom of the headlight housings, and across the inside bottom of the center bar.

It could possibly light the center both directly (like audi's new DRLs) and indirect-reflective, (pointed toward the silver back panel) to light the front of the car. Possibly even changing between running lights, and fog lights, and headlights configurations, in color or intensity, by the design of the LED array.

But then again, I think the rear lights could benefit from a side-to-side LED strip, from rear side-marker to rear side marker, across the bottom edge, top, or both. Something like BMW's light-pipe LED tail lights, or Lincoln MKVIII center tail light bar.

Interesting things to think about... even if that is as far as it goes for me right now. :D
