Good morning everyone.

I'm rebuilding the stereo in my SVX, and need a few tidbits of information from the audiophiles among us.

I'm not building a booming system, by any means. My goal is clarity and as little noise as possible, I've picked these out as my front components.

Oz Audio 380cs. 6.5 woofer, 4" vocal, and tweets. - Yes, its a lot of money for speakers, but you only live once.

I'm looking for a high quality, very low noise 4 channel amp to drive them, and whatever middle of the road 6x9's I decide to throw in the back for fill. These fronts are happy up to about 300 rms. My head unit will be ampless. I've tentatively settled on a McIntosh MX-406...

From what I have heard, the Oz Matrix line of subwoofers is an excellent choice. I'll likely go with a single 10 in a ported box. I've already got an amp to drive it.

It boils down to, which amp should I use to drive the components. Any recommendations? And could someone give me a little info on possibly adding a center channel, how do you drive it, what kind of speaker would you use.

Thanks!
Patrick

All I can say is that you need to upgrade the wiring to the deck if you really want the quality.

Where do you plan on putting the 4" speakers?

The wiring will be all new, from the power wires to speaker wire. (There isn't a scrap of stock radio wiring in the car now, as per my previous stereo.)

The 4 inchers will be placed 2 inches from the 6.5 woofers, in a custom glassed enclosure the protrudes slightly from the stock mesh. (Think of the current area that the speaker fabric covers on the door panel, this area will be glassed over and the mounting surface for both speakers will be tilted up slightly.)
