There were hood done at one point, but I don't think you'll have much luck finding one. If you search around you should be able to find the original buy and whatever details go with it. Trunk lids, as far as I know, don't exist. The only parts that I know are still available are the splitters and JDM wing that Motorsports Warehouse sells. And the CF dash overlay.

There is a fiberglass hood that was molded. It weighs less than 20 lbs (compared to 50-60 lbs for the stock hood). Here's the thread. (http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?t=28471&highlight=class+glass+hood) You'll have to contact svxfiles to find out how to get one.

Perhaps more importantly, are you going for looks or better performance? A CF gas tank cap won't give you much better 1/4 mile times.

Ya, that's why I was wondering if he wants to use carbon fiber for performance or just for looks, because saving a few ounces on the gas door won't give you F1-like handling.

that just for look and i was thinking about getting the fiberglass hood w/ wrx scoop on it a while ago with the cf wing for less weight

Hmm....
Well, for what it's worth, fiberglass is lighter than carbon fiber. The carbon jdm wing on dayle's site has a fiberglass core, and it top coated with carbonfiber (not that there's anything wrong with that..Actulally makes it lighter)
The trunklid is already made of fiberglass (Two layers thick)
The carbon fiber dash overlays just dont do anything for me. the fit and finish isnt what it's cracked up to be...So Id try to keep the carbon outside
and umm...thats about it. If you car is two-tone, it'd look HELLA cool to have the black part of the two tone carbon fiber. That with the wing and a hood would look pretty nice

Well thats true a sq ft of CF is heavier than a sq ft of fiberglass. Its the fact that you can safely get away with fewer layers with CF that makes it "lighter".

WHAT??????? FG is lighter than CF??? No WAYYYYYYYYYY

You all know my experience in FG... On the other hand I know nothing about CF, but once saw and compared two Impreza hoods, one in FG and the other in CF... CF was waaaaay lighter...

Like the guy above said, it's because CF is stronger, so the same hood design might be three layer FG, and only two layer CF. By layer fiberglass is lighter, but carbon fiber adds up to less because you don't need as much.

So CF "stuff" are lighter than FG "stuff" :p:D
