the tools I think I need are the following

Handle # 499787000
Wrench # 499787100
Holder # 498937100
Magnet Base # 498247001
Dial Guage # 498247100

These are all tools to work on the front differential assembly. It also says to use red lead and I don't know what that is or where to get it.
Thanks again,
Jay

I will see what I can find out for you on the tools. I will get back to you. If anyone else has connections, they should check for you as well. I can not say for sure that I can get them or tell you where to get them.

Without looking to see exactly what it is you're looking for, I'd say that's probably a dial indicator and a magnetic base which can be found at many tool suppiers, even Sears. Nothing special about those. BTW, are you certain you want to spend the money for tools that you'll probably only use once, to do a job that can be a little tricky? You could probably carry the diff into a tranny shop and have it set up for close to the same money, plus have it done by someone that's done more than a few. Just a thought...

Thank you all for your help and answers.

Beav, yes those tools are among the ones listed but there are a couple others too. Some sort of handle and an adapter for the handle are also in the list. I was hoping to someday use these tools on a more regular basas and I think I could have a use for them at least a couple times right away.

svxpert, thanks for the link. I'll check that out shortly.

Thanks again all,
Jay
