How does Hyundai's 3.3 compare to the EG33?
I know gas mileage wise it owns the SVX and the HP numbers are real close.

i almost hate it say it, but it compares better than anyone here would like to hear. i first test drove the santa fe which shares the same engine and then an azera with the 263hp 3.8l v6. the sonata's 3.3l felt just as quick to me and the price was right, so i made the deal. the sonata is definitely faster than the svx (and not all that much lighter) and after five days of driving it, i finally had to refuel and was not upset with my 28 mpg of regular fuel consumption. i can't say that i babied it to get that mileage either since the car just seems to want to move. right now, i don't regret my decision at all. we'll see how i feel when winter returns. at least this car has abs, tcs, and esc which my elantra did not.
