Bart had contacted me a while back about a 5mt conversion. After all the needed info was gathered he went about and bought an 04 WRX trans, flywheel, spec clutch kit, BRAND NEW Starter, all the right nuts bolts and other misc hardware and dropped the car off on Saturday.

I worked a lot on Saturday and pulled his old auto his steering column old pedals and exhaust...

Now as any of you who have done 5mt swaps know, the pedals are a pain in the butt!!!!. So i did them first and got that out of the way. I called it a day after working 10hrs and got most of the hard stuff done. Bart had also asked me to install Earthworm's diff and rear sway bar bushings. I agreed I would give it a try. After 2 hrs of laboring away... I finally got the diff bushings in. I also went ahead and did all of the wiring. I finally went ahead and put the stage1v5 ECUtune chip in his ECU before I put it back in the car. Next step is to pick up the flywheel and the driveshaft on Wed. and get back to it. Below is a couple pics of the progress. If all goes as planned, I will have his car done at the end of the week;)

the tie rod looks llike it could use replacing... I can replace it with one out of a 97 w/ 52k on it but you would still need to get it aligned

oh BTW I am the first I know of to use the CV style driveshaft. I found a way to seperate the two halves and now I can use any SVX shaft to get it lengthened

Tom,
Catalog page 3495. It's a two part urethane.

Just make sure you seal the bottom of your "mold" so it doesn't leak out. You can also wait a little bit (maybe 2-3 minutes) for it to start to set up in the can before pouring it. This is what I've used for my "Gruppe N" trans and dogbone mods. Old Tom used it when he made his rear diff bushings.
