That child has no idea.
I know we all have our opinions, but they are better presented through experienced eyes.
I say send him over, and give him a glimpse of real modern situations.

The CNN guy does make a good point. If 24 was all true, the Neo-Con's would be right. Too bad for them, 24 is fantasy as there is no CTU and Jack Bauer.

Don't you just love it. I have not even seen the show but I am laffing my butt off at the far lefters knee jerk reactions to something with which they disagree. Stories from their side can be passed off as fact, ala 9/11, but let something come on that only appears to present or support the other side and they go ballistic. So, damned funny. :D

What drives me nuts is the fact that they're making out like plot lines about terrorists operating out of the U.S. is a "new" concept and patently feeding off the "hate" of radical muslims. Uhm, shall we look back -- BEFORE 9/11?

TRUE LIES -- 1994 http://www.amazon.com/True-Lies-Arnold-Schwarzenegger/dp/6305364648/sr=1-1/qid=1169566522/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-0174275-4396008?ie=UTF8&s=dvd

Was it not about a group of radical islamists who were bent on nuclear destruction. There was even a MUSHROOM CLOUD when the bomb went off in the ocean. Oh, and golly, I love the scenes with the Harrier (<---this has nothin' to do with nothin', I just thought I'd make that comment :) ) I found it interesting that the description of the movie on Amazon.com made no mention of the terrorist angle -- it concentrated on Arnold hiding his "James Bond" persona from Jamie Lee. Sure, it was mixed with comic relief, but, nonetheless serious about nuclear terror.

Even more on point....

THE SEIGE -- 1998 http://www.amazon.com/Siege-Denzel-Washington/dp/B00005221K/sr=1-1/qid=1169566734/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-0174275-4396008?ie=UTF8&s=dvd

This, to me, was a disturbing movie, and showed more of what it COULD be like IF terrorists began to operate here, as they do abroad. AND, the description bills it as a "fantasy." Fantasy? Yes? A disturbingly realistic fantasy? Absolutely. AND, may I add, just as compelling as 24.

I'm sure there are many more -- I mean, with the Russians ruled out as a threat, and the IRA laying down arms, who else can we use in the movies as a viable threat? We're left with the terrorists and the drug cartels -- :D
