check engine light does stay on for approx 5-10sec after dieing SOMETIMES otherwise it starts but as soon as accelerator is pushed it dies again it will normally do it mostly on the top half of gas tank does that matter? I am thankful for all the help I have receved. :) x? what is pump the approx cost for fuel pump
and what kind is good other than OEM? walboro?

you can pull out the back seat and check the connector of fuel pump. But I doubt its the fuel pump, usually they dont go bad unless you have water or always running almost empty all the time.
Keep us posted.
PS... I am parting out one of my SVX and I am not too far away from you.

I have the same sort of problems, and i was wondering if you could post a pic of the fuel pump connector and how we're supposed to know if it's bad.

Did you check the codes? Could be either a Vacuum leak or the fuel pump.

Have you checked the codes yet?? It's fairly easy to do, in my opinion it's easier than checking a fuel pump. Procedure can be found in the "How To" at the top of the page, or in "Earthworm's" SVXidedia.

There are a few things that could be causing this that are more common than a fuel pump failure. First step is to check for stored codes.

Do a search for cleaning your MAF, but you may also want to start sourcing a replacement...
