welll, as much as i am sure you will all hate it, i have modded my svx, some would say ricely, but i disagree. it started with the BBS's, now i have an intake that we rigged to work and full out exhaust...the intake made a huge difference, i went from a cotton K&N to a dual coned filter, and then we proceded to modify my buddy's ram air for his 2.0 Jetta(now WRX powered) and got it all leak free and working great. this mod seemed to help across the board, the power seemed better in all RPS, however it was a tad bit louder. next to come was full exhuast, being MN with no emissions we decided to go all out, we expect this to become somewaht of a track car so, yeah... um, we started it all buy creating a custom 2 into 1 Y pipe, 2.5" tubing, all mandral bent and welded up, we then procedded to create the rest of the exhaust, it was basically setting in the 3" tubing that we wanted to run as close as we could where we could, no cats, no resonator either. then to top it all off we put on a Blitz Nur Spec muffler from an STI set up. with it all said and done, i can say i lost some lowend torque, but other than that the rest of the powerband was greatly increased. my only complaint is that it is VERY loud, i need to do atleast a silencer at this point as i am on the verge of getting a ticket, it is extremely low, grumbly and very sweet sounding, there is a very small amount of resonation around 3k, but only until about 3200... once the IRS valve opens the thing sounds insane... enough said i am glad i did what i did, a little loud and a little ricey looking but overall very pleased.

thanks, there is definatly a gain in top end, no doubt about it. i will hopefully be going to RSmotors sometime in the near future and throw it up on the AWD mustang dyno... i will obviously be posting numbers when i do

Do you have the numbers from before so you can compare the differences? :)

+1 for dyno results! The sooner the better! Make sure they do a SAE corrected plot for you. If possible, see if they can do a "and this reflects what a DynoJet would read out" plot. I'll add your data to my SVX dyno database as soon as you post the plots.

well the "dyno" i have from before was just thru the G-Tech Pro... it read 224 crank corrected hp... and 212 corrected TQ, it was spot on with my buddies Jetta, i mean spot on. so we will see, i am talking to ronnie at RS and we might run something like a VFICII or something and tune it a little too... they do corrected numbers too, so yeah, i will definatley post it up, i hope its done soon. the only other things i have noticed are at teh different resonation points it gets loud on the inside(at Y) but everyone has said its not bad at all outside the car. the car tends to rattle everything caus it is loud on the interior as well. then the only other thing is that it tends to stall even easier when it warms up, i know i need to clean the throttle bodies tho too, but this isnt helping it.

yeah after futher testing yestarday, i have found on start up our car really hates being back pressure free...not a surprise as my fathers C5 Vette is the same way. but as an example the car stalled 4 times this morning...but once its warm and oil pressure is built up and warm it runs at the 600rpm with no problems

Sounds like some great work Chris. Can you take a sound bite of the exhaust and pictures would be good to.

Keep up the good work.

Ok, after 26 hours of tearing apart and rebuilding my SVX i got it running much better than ever before, the power is a little quicker but is still around 2700rpm, the car idles real low and doesnt stall anymore, i am more than positive that the mods had no part in the previous problems, however i dont think they helped them at all. well here are the pics.

Interesting. I've always wonder what this car would sound like with a single outlet.

Any chance of getting some clips?

working on it, we have tried it a few times and the car is too loud and really distorts the sound
