Chike,
Here's the course map WDCA just posted (ignore the September date...it is the 7th event...)

Bill,

It was cool chatting with you today as well as seeing Shawn and Austin again. Nice to see a support crew out there backing-up the ol' SVX!

Let's post the results for DS and ESP in this thread when they're available as well as any photos of our cars in action at the event.

Chike,

Same back at you! Talked with "Dougie" while working the course -- he's the guy who drove the GTWorx subaru at the Challenge (had FTD until some other car got him on its last run). Turns out he knows Ben (of Ben and Dave), so we got to talk about the adventures of the RaceCar:cool: While he's been driving an STi this year, he's switching to an Evo IX next season (based on having driven an IX competitively twice this season). He gave me several good pointers re: setting up the car that I'm going to try out next season:cool:
A extremely wicked BMW with a massive wing turned a 35 second time right before I left:eek:

Bill,

You were speaking with Dave McDougal..aka Scoobydougie..aka Dougie! He's an all round great guy and passionate about autoX! I'm glad he was able to impart some good tips to you - he's definitely one of the best drivers out there.

I'm looking forward to next season as well. I'm going to do the Stage 1&2 autoX class that Brian Garfield teaches and hopefully his Stage 3 as well. I'm also hoping to finally ctach Larry Spector in DS!

Are you up to do the Cumberland autoX around the end of October? I'm thinking of going up for at least one day...

Not to hop in an muck up the post but... Thats pretty sweet you get a layout of the course ahead of time.

P.S. You guys should road trip out here over the winter so there is no "off season".

FYI (before Ben chimes in:p ) WDCA didn't post the summary of raw times (yet?), so the PAX times Chike posted is all we have right now at a summary level. Just eyeballing the results, it looks like my raw time was faster than ~25-30 other cars. The 275s never got warm due to the amount of time between runs (damn carts! ) and the fact that I still haven't figured out the right tire pressures (or how to drive the car in its new configuration!) -- this course should have been a 52-54 second course for me:mad:

Thanks! Yes, that's one reason why I like the WDCR events so much - they are very organized and well-run like a National Tour and Nationals event! (at National level events you typically get a course map the day before as well)

California would be a serious road trip for an autoX. My car will need some down-time this Winter as a few more Stock-class legal mods will be installed... ;)

I've only been to two events out here so far. So they might send out stuff like that during the summer or depending on which club is running things. The Local SCCA clubs do a good job as far as organization is concerned. It's def. a NOOB friendly enviroment.

Come on Bill I would've thought you'd put it in the NASA wind tunnel for tire pressure testing. We got our pressures down pat on the slicks. 20.5 up front 19.5 rear.:D

Ben,
Nice! Yeah, I've got a feeling I'm going to be down around 32 front and 30 rear when I'm all done. Started at 41 and 33 on my first run and ended up at 37 and 32 on my fourth run...and the back end was still coming around at the last right sweeper at the top of the course, the left sweeper going into the long slalom, and the left sweeper into the finish:mad:

Bill,

Don't wait until next season to put Dougie's advice into practice. You should try to make it out for at least one day of the Cumberland autocross... :)

I'm going to try my best to make one day as well. However, last I checked no one was registered in D-stock... :(

Agreed. The WDCR definitely has the best 'national style' courses - possibly in the Mid-Atlantic. The Cumberland autoX courses tend to be pretty good as well, but you can reach speeds that would be illegal (65mph+) at a National event.

I hope to make one Philly region event next season for exposure to different drivers in D-Stock. But my local SCCA club (Blue Ridge) and the WDCR would be the events where I'll hang my hat on a regular basis!

Philly doesn't have any decent lots aside from Aberdeen which is okay. Set your sites for either a Hershey Park or Central PA region at the state college airport where you have courses upwards of 1:30 and speeds boardering on insane for autoxing.

I want to compete in all except two. :)

FYI, my 'Road to Topeka' is looking better and better in '07. Just got an offer from Justin Rest (winner of DS at the 2006 Subaru Challenge and finished 28th out of 39 in DS in Topeka) for him to co-drive my car. He'll cover my entry fees and give me 50% of any contingency money he wins. Needless to say, with the WRX's launch, we should have a serious shot at doing well in Pro Solo competition...

Bill,

I'll take it into consideration. I'm definitely looking forward to '07!

I had my best autoX ever with my BRR SCCA club today. I won D-stock by 2+ seconds over another driver on r-comps, and I had the 10th fastest Raw Time and finished 5th overal in Pax. With the win today, I also captured the D-Stock title for the season!

DS - D Stock Pax: 0.798
1t CHIKE DELLIMORE 06 SUBARU WRX STEEL GRAY 64.326
2 GARY RAULERSON 05 DODGE SRT-4 ORANGE 66.463
3 CIRO PAPI 04 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE GREY 70.935

FTD was a 61.593 by my instructor Tony Hodges in his DSP Neon (finished around 20th in DSP at nationals).

Are you going to do some 1/4 mile runs with your current engine or will you get it rebuilt in time to take it to Capitol?
