She is very sick.
96 LSi AWD, Black exterior/beige interior. 192,000 miles. As far as I know the engine itself and the transmission are ok, but there are a myriad of other problems. I am the second owner of this car, I bought it at 59,000 miles. I do 100 miles to work each day and this was my commuting vehicle, so most of my miles are highway miles.
Has some nice aftermarket chrome wheels (one of the original wheels cracked)
I don't have any pictures yet, but I will try to get some soon.
She needs (from memory)
4 new tires
Brakes all the way around (may need rotors and calipers)
Power steering pump.
Probably needs a timing belt.
Something is wrong with the AC. It has a compressor that is less than 2 years old, but suddenly it doesn't seem to always work.
Water temperature has started to rise too much on hot days forcing me to run the defrost to prevent over-heating. She has not overheated on me yet.
There was a code of cylinder #6 misfiring, probably needs a new ignition coil.
Check engine light has been on since I bought the car.
May need a new alternator and battery.
Security module is dead (so is the single FOB I have) ( I have replaced this once before as well)
Rear windshield wiper motor
Antenna motor (luckily it is stuck in the up position)
Car is dirty inside and out, back seats need some work.
There are probably more problems that I am forgetting. The car is located at Subaru of Keene in New Hampshire. I was able to drive it there with no problems, but they quoted me in excess of $3000 for parts only to fix her. (plus labor). I am sure anyone who is interested can go over the problems with them. I'll be getting my stuff out of it tomorrow and paying the $200 they want from diagnosing these problems, so I'll then have the detailed list of what it needs and will update.
Hopefully someone here wants an SVX project car, or the tranny or engine, or to part it out or whatever. The wheels are at least worth something (though they may not be perfect). I am trying to be as honest as I can.
I loved this car. Was the best driving car I ever had, and I am not sure I will ever own a car that I will love as much, but I can not afford to keep repairing the same problems, nor paying for premium fuel.
Not looking to make a killing, make me an offer.
