SOLD to Tim Fuller!!! Good car for a great price.
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION
1992 Subaru SVX LS-L AWD. 3.3L dual overhead cam H-6/auto, 181K miles, 4-owner car. Peacock Blue (aka dark teal) paint with gray leather interior. Car is equipped with all factory options, including air conditioning, power windows/mirrors/locks/antenna, Subaru/Pioneer in-dash AM/FM/cassette/CD, cruise control, 16” aluminum wheels, power sunroof. Everything on the car works, including the air conditioning. A very original, unmodified car in running condition.
KNOWN HISTORY
4 Owners total (verified by CarFax); 3nd owner was a friend of mine and a Subaru fanatic. He owned the car from December 1999 at 129K miles until March 2006 with 181K miles when he replaced it with a new Subaru WRX. Car lived in New York, Pennsylvania and suburban Detroit during this time period. Repair records included from 113K miles-present. I bought the car in March 2006 to turn it into a Grassroots Motorsports $2006 racecar. However, I now realize that I do not have the time to maintain and modify another car.
VEHICLE CONDITION
EXTERIOR
Good condition considering mileage. Very, very little rust – only some surface rust at a dent on the passenger quarter panel (pictures available). Paint appears original and in decent condition with good shine but scratches and chips that you would expect from a car with 181K miles. It looks good from 20-feet. The car has a fair amount of door dings but no signs of accident damage other than a crease on the driver side fender and a smashed driver front turn signal (parking lot incident). All body panel fits are good, doors close very nicely. Floor pans are 100% solid with no rust at all.
INTERIOR
Original gray leather interior with blue suede accents. Front seats and rear seat are worn with some split seams on the driver’s seat. Door panels, headliner, gauges, console and dash pad in excellent condition, carpet is in good condition (minor wear). The last two owners were non-smokers – no smoke odor in car. Floor mats are missing.
MECHANICALS
Mechanically the car is in good condition. The 3.3L engine starts immediately and runs smoothly without a trace of smoke. The transmission shifts well. The transmission has a tag from Subaru stating it has been rebuilt – this was prior to my friend buying the car at 129K miles. The car does not leak any fluids. When I bought it, I change the transmission fluid & filter. The air conditioning works and blows cold. New battery. Tires are a matching set of 225/50R16 Pirelli P7000 Super Sports – two are good and two are worn. Two good used 225/50R16 Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires are included with the vehicle. I have put less than 100 miles on the car since buying it in March.
PROBLEMS
This car needs the following work:
1. Right front wheel bearing needs replaced. I would not drive the car a long distance without replacing this wheel bearing. It makes a lot of noise.
2. Exhaust leak in front of the catalytic converter on the Y-pipe. Not terrible but annoying. This would need repaired for the car to pass an emissions test.
3. Left front turn signal is broken.
4. Anti-lock brake light is on.
5. The brakes work but are a little spongy. I am guessing it is due to old brake fluid or a brake hose that is expanding. If I have time, I will flush the fluid and look for a worn brake hose.
6. Emergency brake is disconnected.
7. Interior trunk release does not work. You have to open the trunk using the key.
New price = $1400. The longer I own the car, the more issues I will fix and the price will increase. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks.
