I couldn't "NOT" post this. It came in my PM box. I'm guessing the "Mike" this guy mentions, is "nubsjr." I'm seriously considering a switch -- that rate and their willingess to accommodate is almost too good to pass up.

If we don't change the locale compeltely, this hotel is about 15 minutes west of Morgantown, so, you could stay there and drive in on Saturday morning.

What do you guys who've already booked at M-town think. I know it's "tradition" but, if these guys put their parking lot at our disposal each year, that would be even cooler. Plus, it's actually at the READING exit. :)

Reading Meet
Hi my name is John Hutchison and I am the General Manager of the Holiday Inn Lancaster County which sits at exit 21 of the PA turnpike. I heard of your meet from my owners brother in law Mike is going to be at your meet. I would like to offer the use of our parking lot which has the space for 40 tractor trailors so I believe we would have plenty of room for your group and with direct access to route 222 you can be on your way to either Reading and Lancaster with ease. Jeff the hotel owner who also is a owner of a SVX but can't attend would like for me to offer your group a special rate of 49.00 plus 11% tax for the 5th, 6th or 7th at our Holiday Inn. If you would pass this along I would appreciate it. Your group just needs to call 1-800-437-5711 and ask for the subaru SVX rate. If you are looking for a place for breakfast on the 7th we do run a breakfast buffet every Sunday.
Any questions on the hotel please visit www.holiday-inn.com/hi-lancaster I will be out of touch after tomorrow morning but will be back Saturday night if there is anything I can do for you.
John

I wouldn't mind switching if everyone else is switching. I am paying double the rate at the original Holiday Inn. I'll follow the leader.

I do not know anything about this. He must be talking about Mike Davis.

Randy,

This is the Denver, PA Holiday Inn.
This is the original motel that SCOA used.
I suggested this motel awhile back but you declined.

I have modified the tour directions to use the Morgantown Holiday Inn and I deleted the first covered bridge.

One good thing about the Denver Holiday Inn is that they have a great breakfast buffet.

it doesn't matter to me, so long as they'll give me the rate the night I walk in the door. I think I'll call to make sure though. Please make it crystal-clear which hotel we will be meeting at initially though.. or we could wind up with two meets ;)

I feel it is a little late in the game to switch this year. But let's switch for Reading IV.

I'm sure the Hotel manager will understand how rude it would be for twenty some SVXers to cancel after John worked to put a package together.

I'm going to stay at Morgantown this year.

I agree with Doug. Stay at the Morgantown this year.

I declined because you said there was not ample parking. But that's in the past.

I'LL REMAIN AT THE MORGANTOWN THIS YEAR. WE WILL MEET AT THE MORGANTOWN -- THOSE WHO WISH TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE 49.00 RATE AND STAY AT LANCASTER, GO AHEAD, BUT YOU'LL NEED TO COME TO MORGANTOWN ON SATURDAY AM

sounds good... and i suggest that Reading IV can be at Morgantown, WV. :D:D I promise I will try my best to find at least 10 SVX cars w/ different colors to welcome you guys' coming at the entrance if you guys arrive at the same time... Wow.. that'll be a big attraction and cause traffic jam... maybe the news will come out at the local university-run newspapers the next day.. :D if we've enough of pple, i believe i may be able to get a better rate than $49/ a nite in town. i know the local holiday inn's manager. eating is not a problem, we've lot of great chinese buffet restaurants, i believe i can get good rate. :D:D

when's the Reading IV?? it makes more sense that if it's few mths after July....... imagaine that too soon...  :D:p

The "Reading" meet will always, in perpetuity, be the first full weekend in April (in other words, if the last day of March is on Saturday, and the first of April is on Sunday, the meet will be the following weekend). Mark it on your calendar as far in the future as you wish to.

Randy:
I agree that we should stick with Morgantown this time, but how about asking them to match the lower rate quoted by the other Holiday Inn?

It's already in the works, Dan. Thanks.

John Hoffman has been in touch with them. They cannot do anything about the rate this year, but, may do something next year. They are grateful that we are an honorable enough group to honor our rate and not jump ship on such short notice. I'm anxious to see just HOW grateful they are. Especially since the meet seems to be growing. The trouble is, out of the 17 rooms John had reserved, only 5 or 6 people took advantage within the alotted time. I don't know if that warrants special treatment. We'll see how it goes. I won't worry about next year, right now. I'll wait until after this year's meet, for which I am really getting torqued. Another person sent me a PM that he's coming --- Could be 50 plus cars now. :D
