Rear diff questions

What are the thread sizes for the sideplates on the Legacy outback diff. I broke 2 bolts removing them and need to clean them out after drilling them. Also do I use the SVX sideplates in the new diff? The Outback ones are broken around the bolt holes:mad: Thanks

8mm X 1.25
You are using the Outback housing, and Outback ring and pinion.
You will use the SVX carrier and bearings.
You can use either side plates, BUT,you HAVE to get the side clearance right, or it won't last.
That means you have to pattern the gears, and check the lash.

The Outback sideplates are toast as the bottoms of them were corroded and broke off with the bolts, hope this isnt the same with the SVX:rolleyes:
