View Full Version : Huge rock lands on car

Yesterday (Wed) a humungous rock and rockfall landed almost directly on a car that was driving along the highway in Switzerland, killing both occupants. Two truck drivers were luckier and escaped serious injury though one truck got overturned.

This is one of the main roads connecting Switzerland with Italy through Gotthard. It'll be closed until the weekend.

(sorry, the commentary is in German from German TV news but the pics don't really need any explanation)

Sheesh..... I can see myself checking not only side and rear-view mirrors, but also keeping an eye on the sky next time I drive that road :eek:

Bipa, What was the huge rock speed when it hit the car? How many pounds was the huge rock? :p :p

This was really an accident from the sky...those victims were really unlucky.

Bipa, next time you not only keep an eye from the sky...probably on the ground as well...sometimes the ground might crack..:p

Just watch the animated video, if the rocks were falling that quick to the car and the truck, count themselves really unlucky...especially the victims in the car. :(

Looks like an act of terrorism to me. Islamic Swedes no doubt harboring rocks of mass destruction.

mmmmmmm.... Chocolate powered cars... droooolll. It gives stopping for a snack a whole new meaning. Siphoning gas becomes a hobby.

Gosh, I have no clue how to get my hands on some. Not something I can get at the local shops. The cops here are not exactly friendly and approachable so I'd be hesitant to simply walk up and ask one about tape. Hmm.... perhaps I can find similar tape at a building and supply store?

Let me know if you are serious, and I can swing by on my next shopping trip to see if they carry anything similar ;)
