"A congresswoman's son and three Democratic campaign workers were sentenced Wednesday to four to six months in jail for slashing tires outside a Bush-Cheney campaign office on Election Day 2004."

Yet Gwen Moore announced that she is still proud of her son ???
"I love my son very much. I'm very proud of him," Moore said.

Old news.

I bet Tom Delay wishes he had just slashed tires. That's just a misdemeanor.

I bet Libby wishes the same.

Foaming at the mouth and totally out of touch with reality. Don't you know that the likes of Kerry, Gore, Dean and Clinton just love people like him that absorb every bit of dogma they put out and never listen to reason or consider alternatives. So sad, when obviously intelligent in other matters.

I think we may need to adopt a no political discussions rule on this forum

First, both dems and republicans have "mindless followers" hell, I'd say that 70+ % of the nation is filled with people who will just agree with whatever they hear, without thinking about it. Don't try to say "oh, thats a liberal thing" because it isn't.

Second, If you had a child, and they did something stupid, are you going to turn your back on them and give them the boot? No, you wouldn't (or at least if you would you probably shouldn't have kids in the first place). I guaruntee that the "I'm proud of my son" is not in direct response to slashing tires. Throwing quotes around anywhere is dumb, and is pure rhetoric. Conservatives seem to love doing this though, as it is half of most campaigns. (Not saying that liberals don't, you just see it a little less frequently)

Slashing tires in general is dumb, however I cannot imagine getting that much jail time for something so... repairable. Even if it was policitally tied.

From the very beginning, no one has shown an alternative and the last struggling 34% of you have no other answers than ehhh... better than Clinton. You guys really need to watch something other than Fox. It isn't a rosy picture, and it hasn't been this bad for decades.

But you guys just keep grasping on to that dream. It's your dream. I'm looking at reality and hoping the budget, Iraq, the increased terrorist threat, and the corruption can get fixed without it tearing the middleclass into pieces.

You guys can go away and hide. It worked for Hitler, and his people. Some of us though are going to keep battling for our country to remain free and safe.

You guys really need to watch something other than Fox.

It is statements like this that totally ruin your credibility. While many of the FOX reporters tend to be more conservative, they at least provide BOTH sides of the issue at the same time with Rep and Dem representatives on air at the same time and given equal talking time to present their side. NO OTHER news channel provides this balanced reporting. Others simply provide the liberal view and rarely give you anything from the other side.

It is your fear (and other Liberals) of the FOX balanced reporting that causes you to hate them so much. Anyone capable of thinking and forming their own opinions KNOW that FOX provides balanced news. I hate to hear the extreme liberals they have on there, but I get both sides.

I do also watch CNN and MSNBC to get different views of the same subjects.
The regular news channels of CBS and ABC are a total waste of time.

Just a random input here...
When did FOX news become credible? Possibly Im out of date here, but the last time I had seen ANYTHING on fox news was one of the news brief / commercial things. It said, and I quote DIRECTLY

"The air you breathe can kill you. Find out where your at risk tonight at 10"
Talk about yellow journalism
Frankly, its things like this that make me trust the weekly workd news for more credible stories. At least they would ADMIT they are illegitimate
But, mabey things changed. I dunno, I have prettymuch been avoiding the news like the plauge, for obvious reasons

Eric, you know my feelings on this.

I will have to mention the fact that Fox News, to me, provides the least credible and truthful reporting. Please note that this is my opinion. They do what they need for ratings. They sell you news. "Man killed in his own apartment" "baby left in dumpster". "THE WAR ON TERROR"

While these are stories are reported on everyday by other networks, and some of them being mostly truthful, I cannot help but notice that Fox Networks News programs are quite gripping, but quite swayed at the same time. Spin alley, Fear TV, Fear News, whatever you call it..... I would contribute the factor of them getting their bad republican.... i mean reputation, not only from their swayed reporting, but of the support they get from the republicans (appointing Tony Snow of Fox to the press secretary position in replacement of Scott Mclellan) and the fact that it contributes significantly, resulting in them becoming one of the leading names in news for many Americans.

As we all know the major charges against DeLay have all been dismissed and I make a prediction that IF the last charges come to court that he will be found NOT Guilty. I even suspect that they will be dismissed prior to trial.

Name one other channel that has viewpoints from BOTH sides on nearly every issure reported. Waiting--give me specific examples. I can watch FOX tonight and give you specifics examples and names of D and R representatives addressing the issue. I challenge you to do the same from ANY OTHER channel.

Ok I could

a) Waste more time with this thread and responding to this arguement, which will never end, because you persist blindly. Its one word against the other. Your opinion is no better or more truthful than mine, because its an opinion. Everyone has their own.

or I could

b) Be amused for a few seconds, stop wasting time, and get back to my college papers.

Keep in mind that Fox picks what they broadcast, as any other network does. They wouldnt broadcast something unfavorable to them because that isnt prudent to their business, which is television. That is the nature of it.

I didnt say there was a "better" news network.

What is this? Hardball? Crossfire? Imgonnakickyouropinion?

I have better things to do. Im responding because I just wanted to make an honest, unscorned observation and express my opinion. (What better way to be patriotic than to express the rights given in the Constitution and stand up for my opinion that is based on an observation about a certain news network that is contorting the world's issues and force feeding it down un-educated peoples throats, creating one-track-minded, religious right, republican, conservative, bible-beating, tazer-wielding, [insert additional adjective/descriptives] monsters to tell me that I cant have the same rights you have and then they procreate and contribute to the rise of a massive religious-run government and class that will attempt to extinguish anyone with differing opinions [oh no lookat that atheist.. he must be a terrorist])

Dont rip my head off. If I didnt have a life with better things to do Id continue with actual detail.

This is invigorating.

I bet youve thought.... "damn liberal" ........at least once.

That would be incorrect, as I consider myself an independent.

Edit:

And please, dont take it as Im saying Fox News is totally responsible for our administrative problems. That would be preposterous. There are many factors that contribute(d) to the ****ty state of affairs. I was just making a simple observation that one network really rubs me the wrong way, and causes more problems that it exposes with its "spin" on things.

Let us not forget Fox's fake news stories and blunders:

http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewPrint.asp?Page=%5CNation%5Carchive%5C200302%5C NAT20030212b.html

That was just a 5 minute search!

That encompasses one of Cameron's fake Kerry stories, the false lobbyist claims, O'Reilly's racist remarks... etc.

Swayed? A bit.

(The search wouldve taken me only two minutes if it was something unfavorable to the Dems as it wouldve actually been on Fox's site, unlike any of these stories which are unfavorable to them.)

Biased? Swayed? Destructive?

Imho....

Go watch tv Lee if you like it.

Oh and while Im really ot, one phrase stepped out in my mind.

Pre 1900s we were spreading Christianity to people... now we are spreading Democracy.

Just another guise for our imperialistic tendencies.

Fox News' Coverage of the War On Terror.

Tonight at 11.

If you want to talk about casino corruption you should check out our Democrat governor here in New Mexico. And not just casino corruption--totally corrupt.

And I did of course note that you forgot to mention the super liberal other half of the Hannitty and COLMES news hour. Always very convenient, isn't it.

As to Fox reporting erroneous news--all channels get taken in by that from time to time, but Fox at least makes a clear retraction, admission of error and renders an apology. You cannot say the same for some other networks.

No DeLay did not decide not to run because he was afraid he would be found guilty. He did it because of the problems it was causing the party. Get that right too.

You really need to watch something other than Fox. They are purely, without exception, a mouthpiece for the Bush Administration. Here's where Mohrd's "Clinton recession" comes from. Anyone who hears it enough will eventually believe it.

HANNITY: "First of all, this president -- you know and I know and everybody knows -- inherited a recession...it was by every definition a recession" (11/6/02)

HANNITY: "Now here's where we are. The inherited Clinton/Gore recession. That's a fact." (5/6/03)

HANNITY: "The president inherited a recession." (7/10/03)

HANNITY: "He got us out of the Clinton-Gore recession." (10/23/03)

HANNITY: "They did inherit the recession. They did inherit the recession. We got out of the recession." (12/12/03)

HANNITY: "And this is the whole point behind this ad, because the president did inherit a recession." (1/6/04)

HANNITY: "Historically in every recovery, because the president rightly did inherit a recession. But historically, the lagging indicator always deals with employment." (1/15/04)

HANNITY: "Congressman Deutsch, maybe you forgot but I'll be glad to remind you, the president did inherit that recession." (1/20/04)

HANNITY: "He did inherit a recession, and we're out of the recession." (2/2/04)

HANNITY: "The president inherited a recession." (2/23/04)

HANNITY: "The president inherited a recession." (3/3/04)

HANNITY: "Well, you know, we're going to show ads, as a matter of fact, in the next segment, Congressman. Thanks for promoting our next segment. What I like about them is everything I've been saying the president ought to do: is focusing in on his positions, on keeping the nation secure in very difficult times, what he's been able to do to the economy after inheriting a very difficult recession, and of course, the economic impact of 9/11." (3/3/04)

HANNITY: "All right. So this is where I view the economic scenario as we head into this election. The president inherited a recession." (3/16/04)

HANNITY: "First of all, we've got to put it into perspective, is that the president inherited a recession." (3/26/04)

HANNITY: "Clearly, we're out of the recession that President Bush inherited." (4/2/04)

HANNITY: "Stop me where I'm wrong. The president inherited a recession, the economic impact of 9/11 was tremendous on the economy, correct?" (4/6/04)

HANNITY: "[President George W. Bush] did inherit a recession." (5/3/04)

HANNITY: "[W]e got [the weak U.S. economy] out of the Clinton-Gore recession." (5/18/04)

HANNITY: "We got out of the Clinton-Gore recession." (5/27/04)

HANNITY: "We got out of the Clinton-Gore recession." (6/4/04)

FACT: "The recession officially began in March of 2001 -- two months after Bush was sworn in -- according to the universally acknowledged arbiter of such things, the National Bureau of Economic Research. And the president, at other times, has said so himself." (Washington Post, 7/1/03)

Colmes has a specific purpose on Aisle's network. He is to convey the democratic party as himself... Which it isn't. It gives the illusion democrats are like him....Which they are not. In fact, he kind of reminds me of Bush in his manner and awkwardness.

Colmes only purpose is to make the republicans backing Aisle look good, by creating an illusion that democrats look like Colmes. Simple Psychology.

Hannity is a war hero.. no... he's a veteran!... no.... Did Hannity serve his country, or is he like the rest of those chickenhawks that use him as a mouthpiece?

No, You're not intelligent.

ABC and CBS are very liberal. If 1 is a hippy, and 10 is a southern bible thumping, confederate flag waving, shotgun firing, redneck. Then ABC and CBS are (IMO) about a 2. NBC, MSNBC and CNN are about a 3.5, and I'd say fox is around a 6.5.

You claim people should determine things for themselves, but you are SOOO far liberal that you can't see it. It is kind of sad, because you consider yourself a moderate.

Now before you go labelling me a conservative, or republican, realize I am not. To be honest, I'm more a Libertarian than anything else (closest party to what I believe).

I voted for Kerry.. It is true, However I am glad he didn't win. The problem though, is that the Rep. party effed up so bad in the past 4 years, that I cannot imagine anything but a dem. sweep this next election.

2 parties suck.

Here we go on the Liberal thing again. The automatic well... YOur'e a L1b3ral!11!1

Define a Liberal.... I mean besides someone who is against Bush. It's not going to fit me. I could care less if they drill holes every 6 inches in Alaska, and they throw a shopping mall up in a rain forest somewhere. I'm retired military, I believe in the death penalty, and a strong believer in keeping the government out of my pocket and out of my life. I don't have long hair, I have a professional position, I don't smoke dope, or do drugs, and I don't hang out at communes. On the other side, I could care less if gays have polygamy style quadruple marriages while wearing polka dotted bikinis, and it wouldn't concern me at all if a person could buy abortion coupons on sale 2 for 1 at walmart...sss. It's their life. Small Government... stay out of people's lives.

What I am.... is your paragraph #2. I am completely, overwhelmingly, outrageously, over the top ticked off at what the republican party has done since we entrusted them in 1994. And every day that passes that nobody is held responsible for all the things that have happened.... from the National Debt doubling, to allowing 9/11, to Iraq, is one more day that people start waking up.

All you see is me and a couple of people talking..... There's more, and they don't say a word. Which brings us to the sweep part.

Yep.... exactly. The bad news, the democrats will look like jerks because they'll have to fix all of this, so they won't last long. One raise of the tax tables, and wham! Here come's the dress stain/swift boat group sayin" "Told ya!!" (Well duh.. Obviously they never mastered that balancing a checkbook thing.) Republicans have already started their move to this phase. They know they don't have a chance, but they know they'll be back.

You're first comment of "not intelligent" made absolutely no sense. I'm just figuring it's part of the "well...uh... Your'e a l1b3ral!111!!" thing.

Do a little checking on that MSNBC thing. Who was behind it, who works there, where they went. It may surprise you.
