Young Tom is younger( ) with probably faster reflexes, a manual transmission with a higher power to the ground ratio(85% over 75%) and a chemical supercharging system that, when properly modulated allways delivers more than the advertised rating, ie; 165hp might actually be 195hp...
That said, I am just looking forward to seeing my friends, relaxing for a day, and building a memory.

I love Reading.

I don't have the cams in my silver...yet... Money just hasn't been there and I have been focused on oher things lately. I am going to do a partial build on my spare motor if I don't blow up my current one

To anyone concerned about weather, I am looking to find a portable car-port or a large tent to park cars under if it does rain. So if anyone knows of someone or knows a place we could rent the tent from for the day or two.... let me know

ok did a little looking online and found something. If no one already has something I will stop at a local walmart and pick up a car canopy. I can use it at home too if I have a car in the garage but still need to work outside. Looks like there may be a donation jar at the tech sessions to cover it...

no lucky on finding a decent sized canopy. Shiping for that one from Walmart is going to cost $320 to get it here by thursday and no stores have thm in stock:rolleyes: I really need to find something soon so please chime in if you have anything. I would much rather just rent a big tent for the day so we can park several cars under it and many people can just relax under it and chat or learn a thing or two

Just logged in for the first time in weeks Bill. I did and I'll reply shortly. Work has been crazy (in a good way) and I've been absent from the site for too long. I'm bumming over the rain. I borrowed a 1984 Porsche 928 S for tomorrow so I had something nice to drive since my SVX is gone and I didn't want to drive the SUV. I'm still coming, but at alot slower pace than anticipated, or desired.

So far, haven't heard anything about the "Meet Monster" rearing his ugly head for Reading 8.

As this point I'm more concerned about the "Meet Mother" (as in Mother Nature) wanting to give an encore performance...

John,

We'll be bringing the Meet Monster again this year.

Also, there will be a special presidential citation award for outsanding service to the SVX community given to you know who (yipes....did he say zebra stripes).

We Also have a couple of SUBARU logo backpacks for young kids. I'm sure we can find some children of SVXers for them.

Did I mention Italian Pastry????;)

Maybe God didn't like the way Mother Nature treated us last year. He reprimanded her, told her to shape up and stop causing us angst, took back the SVX he gave her on loan and is now cruising on his own...
