don't take the flaming too seriously, If you try something new around here, it's to be expected. This isn't exactly the most "mod friendly" forum in the world. But people around here sure do know their **** when It comes to the SVX, you won't find a better resource.

If you actually look at the close up of the tail light, you can see its all hot glued and siliconed around the edges. From what I gather from the guide...he painted them silver? What the heck is "Lighting material" a refrence to? Seems like a decent idea but that guy did it really, really half assed

lighting material is the plastic light shades that go over the office roof lights... you know? the stuff that always keeps the bugs in =)

Well you can do like I did with the clear lenses. You can get instead of those diffusers, some half transparent material, glue the edges and cover them with with a thin vynil ribbon  ;)

If you can find some plexiglass or polycarbonate sheet that is thin enough and still be flexable you could use it instead. The problem with that office grade light diffuser, it is brittle as hell. one piece of hail, and that kid will have to do it all over again:eek: . Polycarbonate is strong, but to have it flexable enought to make the body turn it needs to be thin, again probmle of strength. if we wanted clear light, we would need them to be custom manufactured out of th same material used in the actuall light plastic. its is pre-shaped and thick, so it is strong.

I think smallcar has the ability to pull such a thing, since it has experience with such material...

and i think they would be the only ones that would actually do it for us. i doubt we could get a large ebough order for anyone else to consider it

But what would be the inner design of the taillights? I mean the part behind the outer lens?

well i see no reason to change what subaru originally made. just add more reflective material behind the lights. and make the brake bulb streight on, instead of angled.

..Clear lenses...yeah, I could forgive you for that. Might actually look okay on a pearlie..mabey
Altezza style? Am I the only one that find it retarted that they make tail lights that have misclanious circles and bulges all over even for the most square,. non circular or bulbous aotomobiles?

oh...I bought the svx because they dont make altezza lights for them. Lets keep me from having to buy a dump truck please (Unless...Did altezza dominate the dump truck market yet?)

Sorry Chike for using your car as a doner pic....Its memory will be permanently tarnished. ;)

I personally don't mind them on a red car. Accents them a bit. But thats about it. Most look cheesy. A few kinds look good.

the chop was those off an Integra, just incase anyone wondered.

To each his own. On some cars they look hilariously silly. Others look ok. I think the SVX would look 'ok' with them on, and while I wouldn't, I find it less of a sin than an aluminum spoiler, or a crap ass fiberglass body kit.
