"SVX's were truly awesome cars but had one major flaw: a big, heavy automatic transmission that not only sucked power from the monster 237hp flat six under the hood"

I hate it when ppl dont get the specs right.

Engine was also replaced by SOA....hmm...

The car belongs to Denis, he bought it from SVXpert last fall. SVXpert did the work to the car and he does have some connections to SOA... More than that, I don't know...

John should watch this auction and possibly put his 5spd up for auction afterwards.

Already watching it :)

I'm very curious to see what it'll get on ebay.

Probably a symptom from the 5spd swap. Remember, when you do a 5spd swap, somehow you need to fabricate a speed input to the computer as the computer is used to seeing input from the speed sensor on the 4EAT.

ladies and gentlemen, please dont slam my auction...if you have any issues with anything ive posted on there, direct them to me.

and yes n00bondemand, you read that right - SOA, where i used to work and where svxpert, an aquaintance of mine who used to own the car has a few friends.

ive been a member on almost all of the legit subaru forums for over 4.5 years and many will vouch for me so lets not be so quick to discredit, thanks.

to be honest, im not sure because i didnt install it.

try emailing subarueast@yahoo.com or pming svxpert, he did alot of the work there and could tell you more than i could about the odometer install.

just being curious, but isn't it illegal to do that? :(

So what happened to the engine that it needed to be replaced?

not with a notarized affidavit/signed odometer disclosure statement. this was done when i had the car registered.

n00bondemand: the story i got was nothing was wrong with it, it was simply because he could do this. when the trans conversion was done, the engine was replaced too. it may be hard to understand/believe but being that we had connections with SOA, we had alot of parts from older/discontinued model cars at our disposal (svx, loyale, early legacies) that were simply given to us or thrown out (read: whole cars being destroyed). another example of this is a modified turbo XT i had help building and have since sold - we replaced the engine in that 2 or 3 times in one year because the parts were on hand when we needed them. a guy on the XT6.org board who bought it will back this up, let me know if you want his contact info.
