Would 7000 be an alright price for a 1992 Subaru SVX LS-L with 130k miles on it?

I've seen a few go for around 4-5000. I would see if they would lower their price (considerably!) :D

Agreed... I paid 7000 for my 95 with 90,000 miles... And i feel that i could have done better.

I think 7K is a bit too steep with 130K. I got raped on mine (8,990.00 for a '92 with 109K), but, it was before I knew ANYTHING about the car (except the fact that I HAD TO HAVE IT).

I've just recently seen a 92 Pearly LS-L with far less miles (80-something K) priced at 5,000 in . . . (well, I'm still considering that one, so I won't tell you where it is), and a 92 Liquid Silver LS-L (again, with 80+K miles) with no spoiler for 4 grand . . . well, if I don't buy the Pearly, I might think about that one too. :D But, they're not that far away for that kind of a deal. I know where I can get my hands on a 94 Laguna Blue L with around 80+ K miles for around 5K, so, I'd definitely try and talk 'em down. If they can't, at least, get down to the 5,500 - 6K range, I'd walk.

the only bad this is that the guy has me by the balls seeing how this is like the only car in a 100 mile radius i can find thats not torn to **** already

It might be the only one in a radius of 100 miles, but you might have to go a little further to get a good one at a better price. I flew to Oklahoma City, OK from Washington state to get mine. Others have gone a fair distance to get theirs as well. :) Don't jump at the first one if it is not right. I know - its easy for me to say - it is the one you fell in love with, its close to you, and you want it BAD. All I am saying, and agreeing with the others is - try to get them down if you can. Good Luck

:)

I think that one sold a couple months ago. I think I called on it when I was looking. That's the bad part of autotrader, the ads linger after the sale.

Where are you at in Missouri? If you find something further out than you're willing to risk a drive/flight to check out - well, there's several experienced SVXers who can check out rides for you, and let you know if they're worth the effort. Just ask.

A lady here recently emailed me about selling her '93. It had 70k miles on it and she was asking $7k. She just sold it, but I don't know for how much.

So a '92 for $9k seems sorta steep to me. :) As does a '92 with 130k miles for $7k...

I think that you should be able to pick up a fairly clean 92 LS-L with 100-120k for $4500 to $5500. I 'd rather pay $5000 for the car, $2-300 for a plain ticket, $2-300 for gas and make it a mini vacation than spend $7000 for a car to save the trip. It may be worth it especially since there are people on this board from all over the country that can check out cars for you. Also, it shouldn't cost you mare than $750 to ship a car to you from any where in the country.

Well look in the classifieds here. I've seen atleast 5 or 6 good buys in the last few weeks. Then there is www.ebaymotors.com There is a 97 LSi in Cherry Hill, NJ for $7950 with just under 100k there right now. That's a steal, if it's as described. There is www.cars.com also. I know there are more sites but these are what came to the top of my head.

The Joe Spitz site has SVX classifieds. You could try them also. I can't remember the URL. Just do a google search on Joe Spitz.

PuppetGuy,

PM Lwin and have him, or one of the Chicago guys go look at the car. Barrington is just west (?) of Chicago. (I ran a cross-country race there in H.S. - I finished, uh, nevermind.)
