Dead alternator

Looking for a smoked alternator for it's parts. I need it for it's coil (the copper thing inside that you can see through the holes). I made a big mistake a few years ago painted it. Now it looks like poop! Ships to 18512. Thanks, Mike.

Why don't you just take the coil out which you'll need to do anyways and plop it in some carb cleaner or diesel. 2 days later you'll be golden.

I didn't know if it would compromise the coil or not a new one appears to have a coating on the wire. Is that wire at all insulated or does it touch itself as it winds?

Shouldn't effect it but if you're concerned you can always take it to an alt rebuild shop and just ask for it to be cleaned up. Shouldn't cost too much more than shipping would plus then the whole alt looks new again!
