LTB: SVX in southern cali area

Hi all.....

I've been all over Auto Trader, ebay, Traderonline and here looking for a SVX to purchase that's close to the Southern Cal area.

THere's one on Trader that's located in Newport Beach Cali that seems pretty decent for the money. It only has 88,000 miles on it and has had the tranny rebuilt already.

Is anyone familiar with this one?

'96 Ebony Pearl LSi, 98k miles, $5950 in Fountain Valley (Looks to be near Huntington Beach).

I called the guy on it... He just listed it today. He's going to be putting up picts later today. Called the paint an 8 out of 10 and the interior a 9. Says it's rock-solid mechanically. One-owner...

Then again.. He is a car dealer and their track record for honesty isn't precisely clean...

If it weren't 1700 miles away, I'd be highly considering it...

the tranny on my '92 LSi burned up ten days ago at a tick over 95,000 mi. Burgundy/grey w/RX7 16x8 wheels and fresh Avon MTech high performance summer tires, Brembo/Bradi slotted/drilled front discs w/rebuilt calipers and fresh stock pads. Rear wheel bearings recently professionally replaced by a local race shop. Paint isn't bad, a few dings and dimples and the left rear corner has been dinged and the paint on the repair doesn't match. Not too expensive to repair/cherry out. Interior is in v. good condition. Oil and filter changed every 3,000 mi. $2995 OBO - pick up the title and tow it away.

My tranny tech wants $2800 to rebuild the trans. Warren C has a complete 5 sp. swap available...so you can buy "as is", have my guy rebuild the auto w/all updates and a warranty, or you can tow it home and have the work done or do it yourself. Please note the price is negotiable. PM or give me a call. If the car is not sold by the end of the month I'll have the trans rebuilt and keep it.
