I'm going to *slowly* compile different SVX wallpaper-style art in this thread.
I've gotten a lot of technical help from this community, and this is one of the small way's I can attempt to give back a little bit..

The idea here is that we hit all different color's and style's of SVXi.

I can take pictures of my car all day (Oh, and believe me I do) - but the car doesn't change much color wise, so I'll need all of your help to compile the different colors.

SO far:

Don't get me wrong, but your car alone would be much better wallpaper without the whole street of houses and other cars. The point of wallpaper is the subject, and not all of the other stuff. :)

Yeah, admittedly, I'm not sold on the SVX font either. I'll see if I can't come up with something better tonight.

Power on Demand:
I can probably work with that, I'll take a stab at that.

Work today might be a bit slow so might even be able to make some progress with it today.

Ooops...well I wonder if he can make something with just my car and SVX at the top or specs of the SVX. I started a thread about wallpaper for my car a while back but got no results. :)

I don't think making the background blurry with the wheels stopped gives the full car-in-motion look. Drive in your buddy's car while he drives your svx and take pictures of him driving. It will be easier (and cooler) to photoshop with that as a start.

I'm not necessairly looking for the traditional "car in motion" look, my goal with these is more about surrealism, unnatural vividness, and exxageration of the cars design through motion lines.

Plus, that would involve more work and logistics, haha. Although if you or anyone else wants to take some pictures like that, i agree they could be molded into some really tight images.

Would you be surprised if I told you that 80% of the photos of sports cars that have (for lack of a better term) glamour shots of them 'racing' at hi speed, are actually not moving at all? Taking a picture of a car while it is moving will rarely (unless you have pretty sophisticate equipment and setup) give you the clarity, color, and resolution of the car that you are looking for. And the circumstances for the picture can be less controlled, so its just all around easier and more logistically plausible when the car is not moving, and then to go back in later and work the picture around the car.

It's pretty amazing what an experienced user with photoshop can do. Cheers, and keep sending in those pics.

I need black, blue, yellow, and white especially.

I can definitely believe that. A few months back I was looking over some pics of the MazdaSpeed 6 and noticed they didn't look like they were truly taken "@ speed"...

Awesome examples chiketdk-
this is exactly what i was speaking of- these are great shots, and see how sharp the car looks, and the coliring, and everything? obviously these cars are not in motion- the background is too surrealistic and ... perfect. but you have to admit, it makes for a very dramatic effect that really highlights the focus (car).

the mazda 6 is a pretty tight car- my friend got one of those... and uh.. yeah, its damn fast. haha.

Haha fo' shizzy.

I was just wondering, did the 50 Cent cd come WITH the rims, or was it extra?
Oh I kill myself.

Just playing bwana. :)

You do know those rims come standard (in either gold or silver) on the WRX STI?

http://www.subaru.co.uk/gallery/images/03my_WRX_STi_and_rally_car.jpg

The ones from an '05+ STI have the same bolt pattern as our SVXi! Great upgrade.

I didn't know that- I've actually not seen those rims on a WRX yet. Maybe all the ones ive seen so far have changed those out or something...

Wait I take that back, when I was racing down I-5 last night, I was toying with a blue WRX that i noticed did have gold rims.

He had a really big muffler too.

Those WRX's in that picture look almost 3D modeled... cool pic. Notice the shadow they cast underneath.

working on bwana's red bling bling ride now.

That pic might be another example of one that was taken at a standstill but made to look '@ speed.'

The weird shadows under the cars, clouds, etc, look too surreal...

Here is my contribution. You can tweak the lighting and the building for some neato effects. See if you can't try and eliminate the MR2 in the pic and work with them.
