Has anyone built a custom tranny pan? I have seen some for GM models that have tubes and deeper pans etc. Im considering sectioning a old pan maybe an inch around the sides for more fluid capacity when I get a new transmission. Tell me what you guys think about this idea:)

the pan has been holding up fine for almost a year since I installed it. One of these days I'm going to install the trans temp gauge to see what my total system (the finned pan +PermaCool filter + B&M cooler in the wheel well) has done for trans temps.

i think that their purpose is for cooling the tranny oil, but they should be made and welded by aluminum...

Can you actually weld dis-simmilar metals? Wouldn't you get galvanic corrosion?

you can weld dissimilar metals, but they wouldn't be as strong as welding dissimilar metals...
