As u can see here, the muffler(s) in stock format resides behind the rear axle.

I was just thinking if anyone has "gotten away" with just installing a muffler where the stock "resonator" resides and running straight pipe towards the tips.

Noise too loud?

This should reduce weight, and in theory improve handling.

I'm not sure about the AWD/FWD and weight distribution dynamics with the SVX, but with the RX7 guys we notice a shift in the weight from exhaust work.

I highly doubt the weight of one muffler is going to have any noticeable effect....

besides, on an RX7, wouldn't removing weight from the rear=less traction=bad?

Why would you want less weight in the rear?

The SVX is front heavy.....if anything move your battery to the trunk to help even the weight out....

The front needs lightening, not the back...

Just my humble opinion....;)

Besides what Huck says, I'm not sure there's much room for a muffler on the forward side of the rear halfshafts. Maybe a 4 inch round body could fit there cleanly, but not much else.
