2004 Alcyone Meet, Orlando, Fl

Ok.. if you read the Southeast Region, you'll know what im talking about.... for everyone else that mite be interested in joining...

I started the idea of a Florida SVX meet, then found out the guys over at xt6.net/forums/ already had a meet planned... with some talking. we decided to merge the 2 meets into one..... and so far... its going to be awsome.. we already have a T-Shirt Idea as well!!!!!!!! Awsome Anime Style Design... go over to xt6.net/forum/ and look under off topic... and click on the Alcyone Art... for the Shirt design, and info on the florida meet

ANYONE with an Alcyone, SVX/XT/XT6, or love of such... are welcome to come!

I wanted to post here, so anyone who DIDNT know... does now... and like i said... your invited! Despite the Huricanes... florida is still lovely this time of year... come enjoy it with Suabru fans alike!

in orlando... dont know if its offical exactly where yet...
and on the 10th... were planning a drive from Daytona to atleast St. Augistine Beach, up a1a... beside the beach the entire way!

It'll be a pretty laid back meet, started out as 4 or 5 of us XT6ers getting together, but now, who knows:)

We'll be meeting at the "Race Rock" in Orlando on Sat. the 9th.
And Sun a drive to the beach...nothing to much besides hanging out and talk'n Subies...

yea... but lets face it... if that isnt what we're into... why would we be on the Forum? :)

I want to get as many people as possable... sence this will be my first meet!

EDIT: I just posted on the XT Forum asking that we finalize this... also.. anyone who is interested... Im taking a head count for the SVX'ers that are going to be there.... and heres of who i know about so far (Huck... your headcount can go on the XT head count)

I would love to attend, but don't think I trust my tranny that far from home - and I don't have enough time between now & then to do the swap (putting in a 4.11 setup)..Will you guys care if I show up in something other than my SVX?

Naw, Lee ....come on up, I won't be in either of my Alcyone's:rolleyes: .....

And you should be able to swap in that 4.11 tranny in a day (not counting the rear diff) so you could swap in the tranny, and run with the FWD fuse in up to the meet, then worry about the rear diff later (Not like you'll hit any snow down there anyway:D hehe)

OK, I'll be there. Meeting the people is worth it even if I can't get it done by then.

I have to order new seals for the input & output sides, filter (screen), fluids, etc. I'm so broke after buying the parts.... Anyway, the tail shaft seal got screwed by the wrecking yard guys stuffing a plastic plug into the end before shipping it to my local yard. Who knows, if the existing tranny doesn't deteriorate any further by then I might still drive the SVX.

Don't worry, it'll take a while for them to remove it from the maps, and people still own old maps that will need to be phased out.

very true, i'm trying to work things out with my lil boss dude, however it's not working too well. I would drag my pet rock with me, but then people look at me really weird when i talk to him. Besides, i won't know anyone, so i have to bring someone else with me to make me feel more comfy-able!!

That's the great thing about a SVX/XT meet....you'll have enough in common with the cars, that everyone gets along great!
I know there will be some others coming that will be alone...me included.

I know I said I'd be there, but I now might not. I have a lot of issues about my house, and if I can get a craftsman out to do any of the needed estimates/repairs, I will have to give up the meet:(

still I aim to try & be there...only been to 2 Subie meets: a mini-meet hosted by Solar and a NASIOC meet in Jacksonville (where I was definitely the odd man out in a SVX - or maybe the odd part had nothing to do with the car:rolleyes: ). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

To any trades people looking for a job - Florida could sure use you. It's currently running about a month to get an estimate on roof damage - 4 months to a year to get the repair. One big roofing company has over 4200 jobs booked.

So what do I need...roofing, drywall, carpeting, laminate flooring, windows, siding, fence, maybe even a kitchen cabinet or two....I think that covers it;)

Dang Lee, my heart goes out to you. I have lucked out in these storms and have not gotten much physical damage to my property. Good luck with getting people in there, i know how difficult it can be. Hope you can get everything fixed and make it to the meet!!

OK... one week to go.... Final Checklist time....

Are you going?
if so... what Road/Interstate/Highway will you use
to get to orlando?

I will draw maps out for everyone that needs one.
Plans so far are Sat. Meet at Race Rock Restrauant, and who knows after that... Sun plans sometype of drive... not sure where exactly... but I will keep everyone informed this week for sure.

didn't take but one pic at today's meet, but thought I'd post it anyway. Might be hard to tell since I downsized it for bandwidth, but 4 SVX's and 4 XT's showed up. I think Huck came the greatest distance, but we still made him buy his own lunch ;)

I just got back late last night.....

Had a great time, it was good to meet some new SVX/XT people, wish everybody could've come on the drive with us, sorry I didn't get to go on the trip to the beech Sunday, but had to be home to come to work today.

I'll try to post some pics when I get a chance...
