hey chris
i read on a FAQ page that if you put 97 or 98 legacy outback differentials on the svx it will improve torque in all gears and take off nearly 2 seconds on the quarter mile. the guy said the best time to do something like that is when you get your transmission rebuilt, which is what im doing right now. i was wondering if you knew anything about that idea and what all does it require. thanks man.

This is true, but remember you must swap BOTH the front and rear diffs(just the ring and pinion in the rear, so you can retain your LSD), and any Legacy 90-98 sould work, I'd look for one nearest the model year of your SVX, and check the gear ratio on the rear diff, as they could be 3:90 4:11 or 4:44(though I haven't found a set of 4:44, but was told they are out there)
The SVX uses 3:54, so the 4:11 or 4:44 (if you can find it) would net the biggest gains.
You will lose some top end, but who needs to drive 150 plus anyway? It will put more power in the range you accually use.
My 2 cents

Huck has got it figured, and I have not done much research on these swaps, but it sounds expensive!
